My experience has been THE TOTAL OPPOSITE. And for programming? YOU MUST BE KIDDING? Have you ever hired anyone that works with an apple? Other than a designer? I, like you thought that your assumption was correct as well, until I hired a C++ programmer with a mac. MISTAKE, CLUELESS...

LOL I believe it. Everyone I know that switched to apple were people who couldn't use a computer in the first place. Or, in the case of a few females, they bought a mac book because of it's color. LMAO Then later asked me to put WINDOWS on it because it could not run the software that...

    Recommend Book on Autotrading?

Can you please explain? I think you have this backwards?!? I know in my experience, after I developed my platform I learned a LOT about market tendencies. This was because I developed my platform to back-test as well as automate trading. I had planned on trading a specific strategy...

Not certain there, the iOS version is 1.5 yrs old and the Android version was updated in February of this year. I am not familiar with IB, but I know some programmers / traders who have attempted to use their api for automated trading and thus far, they haven't been successful. I have a...

Not having 4G would be very costly in a fast moving markets. Really depends on how he plans on trading as well. There is NO comparison between 3G and 4G speeds. I tested my platform for back-up purposes using 3G and it uses a Direct-Connect API and 3G is not fast enough for intra-day...

    Android vs Iphone

The previous post just confirmed what I was trying to say...if you want to 'feel' as though you are technologically savvy or ahead of the curve in terms of technology...get an iphone, stick your head in the sand and listen to everything they tell you. The iphones are BEHIND THE CURVE and just...

3D Camera for both still pictures and video 3D Display with no need for special glasses 4G SPEED Where is apple on this GROUND BREAKING technology? We've had 4G for OVER A YEAR! Sorry, but an 'app' won't help you with these, you will have to upgrade the hardware...if you're waiting...

This is not true, when SWYPE was in beta form, it was installed via a download and it wasn't available in the app store. No root (jailbreak) was required.

Got SWYPE? May be able to get it with jailbreak. With the EVO, there is a mic button anytime the keyboard is present. The iphone now has an 'app' for this, but the EVO had it over a year ago and instead of typing, all you have to do is speak into the phone and it types for you. As I said...

It's about CHOICE and CONTROL. With ANDROID, you have a TON of choices in design and can choose from many different styles and with these phones, are much more open to configuration by the user. When you buy an apple product, they control what you can get and what you can do. Of course...

    Android vs Iphone

SO TRUE! In regards to others using apple products, it actually should be the other way around. When they get their head out of the sand and see what's on the other side, very, very few go back to apple. I had an employee recently switch from the iphone which she had used their products...

LOL Who said apple's stuff is original? So far behind the curve, just like the 80's with the PC, they will eventually lose this battle as well. Let's see, apple is known for developing toys and gadgets, while GOOGLE is developing CARS that drive themselves. It's pretty clear to see who...

    Automated Exits

This may be because if you are trading the same number of shares, you are always risking the same $ amount per trade. If your dollar trailing was larger than a move in a typical day or for a few days in a swing trade, the stop wouldn't be reached because the stock won't move that far intra-day...

    a trading problem for mathematicians

I would have thought by now that he would have figured it out by hand. If he knew how often it happened and his rules are so simple, I really can't believe this has gone on for days. He could have come to the conclusion using a spreadsheet if he didn't have any other way to figure it out.

    Automated Exits

Ever thought about re-entering a trade after a stop-out? There are plenty of logical reasons to re-enter. Which works best, is up to you to find out. A lot of things will work, but which is most consistent may be what you are looking for. Unfortunately as soon as you apply real money...

    a trading problem for mathematicians

Why wouldn't you just back-test the new system and get the REAL answer. There is so much left for people to guess on that it 'may' not be possible to come up with a 'quality' answer. However, I would be willing to bet .36 is most likely not the answer.

    a trading problem for mathematicians

That's not what the original post said, it says: So, are you looking for the winning rate of two methods with zero correlation and you want to know the win rate when they both agree? What if they never agree? And, you aren't willing to tell how often they agree? Or do you know?
