with extremely small size (for me atleast) I got filled one contract of the 5 year on a limit at 111'17 just before the number. Unemployment report always seems to be crazy for treasuries. I think I got lucky that they spiked it up just before the number.

    Comprehensive ES

Yes. These are extremely important. I've learned that if trading Equity indexes intraday it is of utmost importance to be watching the following charts at the same time. DJIA cash, ES, S&P500 cash, SOX, NQ They all will operate in like fashion and by watching them all at once you can see...

    risk management for day trading

When I think of money management I think of "position sizing". or how many shares/contracts for the next trade based on the size of your equity. Various methods to determine this, a fixed fraction, Fixed ratio, set percentage etc.... But if you aren't going to be profitable with 1...

pull up a daily chart of TNX and notice the 10 year yield pull back to the 20 day moving average of 4.19 on 8/8/03 and now it bounced back up almost to the recent high of 4.56-4.592. Lets see if it can make a new high shortly. Some are saying that yields won't peak until the Fed initiates...

Mental Ceilings and self fulfilling prophesies

I would discourage anyone who truly believes this premise from trading this contract at all. This believe is so limiting and ridiculous to me that any devotees of this idea are headed for trouble in the real trading environment. Good luck to all.

    Got any ideas?

Parsifal, Seriously, though; Intraday, the index futures are all about support and resistance levels. I see no indication of this on your chart. I believe you are barking up the wrong tree.

Ever think that it was "overdone" before when it was higher  The deflation scare was Overdone....... there are two sides to every coin. No matter what the markets do, there is always a rationalization for each side of the proverbial coin.

Nearly double the volume goes to the 10 year note futures contract compared to the 30 year. 10 year is the benchmark and replaced 30 year when the treasury stopped issuing 30 year bonds. Even the 5 year note futures contract has more volume than the 30 year. I guess these guys like the 30...

Why not use above todays high so far of 112-22 or overnight 113 area? Also, it may have tipped its hat by opening above yesterdays highs. If it holds 111-03 and I'd watch shorts VERY carefully. If you really want to be long term use 114-21 as a stop which may be TOO wide at this juncture??
