    Yet Another Prop Firm Hiring

Mostly online casinos up until 2006. Now just mis-priced casino promotions in land-based casinos.

What are some good applications for real-time market news?

Nice that they got rid of the platform fee. Most months it was waived anyway, but take some time off from trading and then you get hit with an extra $39 if you don't meet the minimums. I mostly use it for the event calendars and the rest is gravy.

    Yet Another Prop Firm Hiring

Wonder if they'd be interested in a 45 year old professional gambler who's made 7 figures lifetime from pro gambling. Not poker. Willing to start at the bottom.

    Yet Another Prop Firm Hiring

If you can do that, you don't need a prop firm!

Unemployed, No Income and I Owe Tax

There's the Federal Earned Income Tax Credit. If you have some earned income, but not very much, you get about 2k as a refundable credit. Lots of stuff that will disqualify you from getting it though, like almost any amount of investment income.

What are some good applications for real-time market news?

You can get Reuters through IBIS or TWS from Interactive Brokers. Not sure how fast it is since I don't have anything to compare it to. Are you looking to beat Yahoo Google, or are you duking it out for milliseconds? Edit- Are you looking for a terminal type service just to read it, or are...

If Someone Sells a Put I Sold Them...

All electronic. It's a contract you consented to when your broker bought/sold it and really only exists as a database record at the OCC. Please see a text on exchange traded derivatives for more info. What you are describing is something like an OTC option traded under an ISDA contract...

    Best Futures trading platform? Mac

Atticus, is there a way to get DDE quotes into Excel on Mac? I'm stumped.

If Someone Sells a Put I Sold Them...

The counterparty to the OP's put is the Option Clearing Corp, not the guy who bought the put.

    open auction fills

It depends. Since it's an auction, half of the opening print volume bought and the other half sold. I'd look at your trade volume as a % of the average volume of opening prints for the stock. For something like MSFT it's not going to matter, but for many small cap stocks you're not going to...

Can anyone at IB tell us when native NYSE hidden orders will be supported?

I'm assuming all the exotic new order types introduced by the exchanges and ECN's are the exact ones we need to protect ourselves from HFT gaming.

    Non-institutional stock holders

Employees, ex-employees, all of which hold less than 5% and aren't required to report. Mom and Pop tech investors.

Can anyone at IB tell us when native NYSE hidden orders will be supported?

Are any of the hidden orders native on the exchanges, or are they all simulated?

    IB's iTWS for iPhone

Love the app but it would be nice to be able to enter MOO/MOC orders.

    Buying and Selling Options Details

If you are at market or a marketable limit order you'll get filled in milliseconds. Going into expiration, there's no guarantee that the option will trade at it's intrinsic value, but if it doesn't then there's an arb opportunity for someone to buy the option and exercise it against a...

Park spare cash in IB account

Sorry, I have to speak up. Putting your money in SPY, BND or GLD is not "parking cash," it's investing.

Port Authority employee earns more than $166,000 in overtime pay

Making arguments on the absolute level of the guys pay in NYC is not really fair. Everything costs more there, including public employees. What they should fix is whatever scenario that caused them to allow this guy massive overtime rather than hiring another employee at a lower rate. And of...

Day trade AAPL maximum number of shares?

I would think you could at least have the posted size at NBBO. With a round lot of AAPL approaching the same notional value as an E-Mini, that's a lot for a individual trader. If you really are swinging big you could get a bank to position you in it OTC.

IB front ends for daytrading manually

It would seem if you connected via FIX you could have whatever you wanted. You'd have to spend a lot in commissions monthly to justify the minimums though.

Excess money ? How do you grow/store it ?

Seems like a weird question coming from someone who has made significant money in the markets. If you're saying that you're already at your capacity limits for your strategies, then I'd either place money with other traders or just put it in a diversified portfolio of asset classes.
