    Given Up?

Well, that looks A LOT more in-line with my research. And remember, this is only for half of 2007 using fixed lots. If you go back until January and increase tradin size along with an increasing balance, returns are MUCH greater. I demonstrated this in my excel sheet on the blog.

    Given Up?

I do remember running an equity curve for my portfolio of the three TAB signals. On a $2,000 portfolio the largetst initial draw-down was about $500 I believe. As my balance increases and I add size, I will slowly lower the leverage.

    Given Up?

Thanks for your input Saraf. In my blog I included a post with excel files that show all the trades of 2007 pulled from TAB'S C2 page. The systems do run well and there would not have been a large losing month. I'm confident that my funds should be sufficient, but you are right. A worst...

    GBP/JPY Trading 2008

No clear signs for me right now. I might consider shorting any rally into the 216.20 area looking for the low 214.00s and take a long from there, but I'm not taking a position mid-range.

    Given Up?

For anyone that is interested, I'll be starting my blog (hopefully) tonight. TAB has initiated it's frist trade of 2008, although it has not been filled yet. It's nice to see it there so that I know that they are in the background doing their thing now and I have my account and portfolio set...

    GBP/JPY Trading 2008

LOL, yes thanks for catching that! Wow, could you imagine the draw-down one would be suffering if holding longs from 231.90? YIKES!

    GBP/JPY Trading 2008

I may be crazy, but I took longs at 213.90 and holding through the weekend. I think a bounce to at least 216.00 is very likely, but would obviously cover/reverse on a break of the 213.40 area. Also, (and I know this is a weak arguement) G/J seems very oversold and a lot has to do with the...

    Given Up?

Well, Team Aphid Bird didn't start putting trades through this week so I'm assuming it will begin next week. Remember they take the second half of December off. I'll be starting a blog about it all once the first trade is initiated and will post the link here.

So I set up my 401k at age 18

I started a ROTH when I turned 14. Good ol' dad made me a deal. If I worked all summer and made the maximum to put in it, he'd match it. So basically, all I had to do was make the money (legal purposes) and he'd put in the max for me out of his own pocket. I'm 25 now and it's by far the...

is statistical arbitrage viable for individuals ?

You cannot make money as an individual attempting to do high frequency arbitrage. I worked for a couple years at a proprietary firm in Chicago that specializes in high-frequency arb (I was on the FX desk). Trades lasted less than milliseconds and we were constantly trying to be more efficient...
