    TQQQ...

LOL, care to show me the quote of TQQQ at the "tech bubble peak", and how its 270% off that price? Come on man, no one should be that wrong. Ever. You are better than that. Prove it to me, but more importantly, prove it to YOURSELF.

    TQQQ...

Hmmm, are you saying that you just feel it more in a bear market since in a bull market you are still making a killing and don't notice the slight drag, or are you saying that the actual "drag" increases in a bear market, i.e. the cost of getting that 3x leverage actually goes up in a bear market?

    TQQQ...

Haha, ok good. What all these calculations are leading me to believe is that the drag on at least some of the leveraged funds, including TQQQ, is not that much at all, and rather than putting 100% of your money in QQQ (assuming you had a long time until retirement and want to let it ride), just...

    TQQQ...

Hmmmmm. But whatever it was, the underlying lost a ton too, right, like 45% or something crazy? Or wait, maybe not? Maybe it lost far less than this and the log thing works in reverse and absolutely brutalizes you in a down market far more than simply holding 200% (in a 2x ETF) or 300% (in a...

    TQQQ...

I must definitely be thinking about it wrong, linear versus log I guess it is. Here is $100 growing at 1% a day, and $33.33 growing at 3% a day. Yea, its the log thing for sure. :) 100 33.33 101 34.3299 102.01 35.359797 103.0301 36.42059091...

    TQQQ...

Interesting. But, logically, does that make sense to you? How can a starting investment of anything less than 33.33% possibly catch up to a starting investment of $100 in QQQ given the max average 3x performance delta? Just seems completely counter-intuitive to me. I must be thinking about...

    TQQQ...

Yep yep, your 64.8% and 56.3% numbers are real similar to stuff I was looking at when I was working on the spreadsheet. So do you agree, where I said my numbers showed at $7.71 investment in TQQQ at its inception would grow to an amount today which would equal the amount a $100 investment in...

    TQQQ...

I think what you are saying is on an up day rather than do 300% of QQQ it might be up 295% of the QQQ, and on a down day be down 305% of the QQQ rather than 300%, due to the expenses and carry costs (or whatever those costs that drag down the performance of these leveraged funds is). All that...

    Who is buying this trash?

I have NO idea. Its like literally one of the mysteries of the modern world. Why are laws of the universe so finely tuned to be conducive to galaxies, stars, planets, and life? Who are the Denisovans? Who the fuk is still buying Treasuries with negative real yields and inflation about to...

    TQQQ...

On another thread I showed ETers some alpha on going QQQ over SPY. Someone mentioned TQQQ is superior. I was skeptical. I know these leveraged ETFs have carry costs and what not that tend to drag down returns. But then I thought, what the hey, let's test that mofo. So I took the data for...

    Which way? Gold.

Got any favorite miners Nine_Ender? I'm leery to put a bunch of money in gold (or other prescious metal) funds because of their roll cost or whatever that tends to drag down returns over time. But miners would not have that I would guess. Thanks!

Gold is holding steady amid the Dow and Bitcoin plunging.

Because its much further away, e.g. "higher", than Mars?

Gold is gunning for Mars, but is going to go even higher and probably hit Uranus... BANK ON IT.

Thanks MrMuppet! So if all fees of all cryptos are generated by transactions, with all the Bitcoin hype, seems its not even the biggest player, transaction wise, no? Etherium is spanking it, and other coins I've never even heard of it are generating more fees.

Thanks! But that is Bitcoin only no? Was curious about the others. Etherium seems to be killing it.
