    New Documentary on Bill Ackman

No shame in calling something what it truly is. If you simply said that you profited from it but now realize what the business model truly is, even though it would be after the fact, I would still give you the benefit of the doubt that you, like many others, entered it "hoping" there is nothing...

    New Documentary on Bill Ackman

You're trying to justify the fact that you made money by ultimately ripping off someone else, not directly (since they made the own decisions to buy from you) but down the road (chain). So no wonder you don't get the freaking point: It is a scam and there are no similarities to trading...

1080 vs 1440 res at 27inch for charts?

I guess you mean one of those extra wide monitors, right? while all input is appreciated, I'm just trying to determine how 1080res works on 27in. Everyone seems to be focused on the layout and res. While layout is subjective, I think that pixel size/count per inch is more objective measure. Up...

1080 vs 1440 res at 27inch for charts?

Right now I'm using my 27in (2560x1440) iMac as an external monitor but it's a temporary solution before I get regular monitors. The current real estate is not big enough for me so I'm looking to get a couple of 27in'ers. Seems like 1440res ones can cost twice the 1080res (within same...

    Risk mitigation.

you meant to say simple, not easy... as I said before, with options you not only need to have an opinion on what the price of the underlying might or might not do, but also need to get the timeframe and usually volatility right. Plenty of things to consider as far as I'm concerned.

    Risk mitigation.

I wouldn't be able to since I'm too dumb to play options (maybe even trading in general). Besides that, everything seems to be somehow correlated in the markets, one way or another. And there is no realistic way to place/manage thousands of trades to try make it as little correlated as possible...

    Risk mitigation.

I think that his analogy was spot on. You may have the greatest insurance in the world, but that peace of mind comes at a price. It's never free. Hedges are never free. It's exactly like buying insurance, they costs money to buy (therefore lowers your profits or increases loss) but prevents from...

Here is a strategy that beats the S&P

not here to punish anybody, though I must say that seeing some of your posts, well I'd say that perhaps you're in the wrong forum trying to hone on those poetry skills. back to the topic at hand, anytime I see "beat the market", that's good for a bloomberg articles or hedge fund bull$hit for...

Here is a strategy that beats the S&P

Re: Here is a strategy that beats the S&P I guess that you haven't figured it out yet that... You can't beat the market as the market can not be beaten?
