The fact that neutrino had a 50/50 chance of predicting the trend still remains. Abogdan could have just as easily stopped posting and ignored the thread, back when the prediction was made you couldn't have known. I want to see neutrino make this kind of prediction on a newbie that posts a 'how...
Filled 2000 at open and by the time I woke up to exit I was up about 4%, exited at market at dropped the bid down to 1.14. I'll reset performance on jan 2 as planned, peace

Who's they? Folks long live cattle were (are?) in a semi-panic, how do we know? Simple, those on the right side have been long for a while now and are trying to unwind into falling market which no one could have predicted
I'm aware :) But, if this system works as you say, and you frequently move a point in your direction off the initial print, slippage will kick in and you will be filling .25 to .5 off of the initial print, after all, the market is moving with you...
Do you think NYSE will be getting rid of specialists anytime soon? Do you think they will be replaced by something just as manipulative? How will the character of the NYSE markets change by the removal of specialists? Lookin for views
Seems like a good idea Savant, I had tried something similar in the past and couldnt get it to work more than a few months in a backtest, so I didn't trade it (maybe I should've). Anyways, have you ever thought that if you are successful in your journal, others would start trading the same...
Do you trade a mechanical technique/strategy/whatever or are you discretionary? Regardless, you need to figure out how you will be trading and stick to those rules, otherwise you'll end up getting emotional and take large losses. Good luck mi amigo
Sorry for not doing an update yesterday, was busy all day again. Got filled on XLA at open at 1.99 and exited at 2.02 (1.5%), did the 2% in my head real quick and I was off by a penny, the high was well above 2.03 (2.09 I believe), oh well. Also wanted to mention that I'm leaving on vacation...
How many contracts you trading? 13? I just started reading your journal and it seems pretty interesting, I haven't found any info about you indulging your strategy, is it just gut feel?
We probably still have gas for a few months. We haven't had a real correction since the start of this bull, and I believe we won't. Instead around jan-feb we'll have a very strong run-up, an expansion in volatility, followed by the start of the bear
What time frame are you trading on? Taking a 2-3 ticks is unrealistic in Ensign because you're avoiding the spread. When I first started out paper trading in Ensign I did the same thing and then I realized that real trading will never accomodate this ;) Instead I went from a 75 tick to a 343...
Lots of nice looking stuff tonight CYTR (again), MXR, XLA, EMKR
XLA looks best to me, limit 2.09 exit at 2.14

Funky, mind if I make a guess at the system? Are you using a longer term version of your indicator to find the trend and a shorter term version (when it turns up/crosses/whatever) for the entries in the direction of a longer term?
Just compare current equity to the equity x periods ago, based on how much below or above, write a function to dynamically size positions, equity movements will turn somewhat parabolic
