Robinhood users had accounts looted. Risk of same thing happening to IB?

If you had 10 million, you would know, by the time you hit 3 million.:)

best strategy for to grow a small cash account

Fundamentally, knowing 21st century science is key. Biotech gets a lot of money flow. There are so many private companies, and less Public so vet the companies. For example, there is a limited to none, play for the "Solider Fly Feed" market. Micro-Biome space had one and one was bogus with...

best strategy for to grow a small cash account

Find a sector you like and work it. With a small amount Biotech under 5 is a possible play. Find one about to get a trail 2 or 3 result. Do your analysis, technical and fundamental. Find a good entry and scale in. It will go or not. Scale out. Don't let the money sit dead in a stock for...

Is 27" too small for QHD resolution?

You did a ProArt and one of the least expensive. :fistbump::) Nice Choice. You like the text right? One might think it is for pictures, but text, really a Font, has a lot of details that a crisp DPI and good color separation can make out. Some of the precision monitors I have seen were on...

Taking partial profit - IB TWS

Futures Adjustable Stop into Fixed Pegged order and 1 more?

Thanks, The first case seems work as expected. None of the Order Columns give any information after it flips to "Fixed Pegged" type. But it would be nice to see the values or modify even. The second case is something I cannot get to work in any way. I am sure the API would be straightforward.

Futures Adjustable Stop into Fixed Pegged order and 1 more?

When this order triggers at Ask+2, the Stop order changes type to "Fixed Pegged". I can't access the order ticket. Can we assume it is: Still a Stop order? Stop is at Ask-3 from the original entry or the current ASK?. i.e. fixed pegged to which price? Will it trail (Stop) at -4? Second...

Can you see the Algos tracks?

I see Algos :). Seriously, if you read over the IB Algo descriptions and watch long enough, you can see what would be the evidence of them or the equivalent. An old acquaintance once said, "Follow the dinosaurs tracks in the sand, and pick up the crumbs." Anyone else?

Taking partial profit - IB TWS

I think this is the oldest feature request. I saw this request last century, not joking. There was a simple app made to deal with it, Bracket Trader. It still works and works well. I think they will not implement it because in the API it is easy. From the TWS UI, there are a few exceptions...

Less than 12 hours, games and more political games

The short was easy on momentum. The long took a bit of faith after the about face tweets. The dude is on a steroid high and roid rage at the same time. Seem like a VIX >25 scenario. Is there such a thing as fake fake news?:D It did not matter fake or not. Trading is trading. It was not a...

    Bracket Orders not filling

HI JWW, Sorry I was not clear. This was paper and not the API. I just assumed the behavior might help you debug the system. Also I would not look for compensation from IB because there are so many disclaimers, it would be an uphill battle. Instead, I would debug, test in paper and make the...

    Does volume matter?

Yep it is so easy to game. It has been in the news. It took the feds so long to finally fine them for the order book spoofing. And the spoofing was old news last century.

    Does volume matter?

Yep that lagging thing can really mess you up in several ways. Algos or discretionary. A lots of folks get around that issue by using slightly proportional time frames, e.g. 4 min instead of 5. Been there, done that. Volume to me is data, like price action and other "price" things. It is...

    Does volume matter?

Hmm, I use volume as data, not as an indicator as they "teach", which is conviction is proportional to volume or waves and climaxes. That worked for awhile. But now it is so easy to game, bots and algos do it all the time. Hence, e.g. the order book spoofing. There is a concept of knowledge...

    Bracket Orders not filling

Yep, Look at the equivalent of the order ticket. My PAPER ES Stops (Adjustable Trail) in a bracket NEVER fill AH. I think it is the difference of the routing AH, simulated versus on exchange. Could be the paper versus live but I doubt it.

    Market data connection lost

That says it is not your ISP. It is your setup. Any other machines available? Did you sign up for a paper account? Paper uses as different connection to IB. I am not sure about the IB web site issue. I would set that aside for now. Setup the paper account and try that. Also there should...

What to do the rest of the day?

Use a different method, something more attuned to the markets slower rhythm. OTH, go do something else (which you probably do), and come back for the close, which is more like the open in reverse, imo. Today I got up late, 2.5 hours after the open. Put plan B into play and picked up 1/2 my...

    Margin Increase

Lots of people run on margin but I wonder how many run so tightly that this is an issue. Personally, I am conservative and run at margin plus 15% + 30%, i.e. whatever the margin, set it to an additional 15%, which is where I stop loss, and another 30% so I can keep trading. (the 30% includes...
