    Swing Trading the ARK Universe

Yeah, I guess even I get confused translating to allocations. From here on out, I will keep the allocation stuff to myself and report in shares. I felt it might be instructive to newbies because "allocations" can work with 10K or 100K, i.e. it is scalable. This is an area newbies invariable...

    * missed putting in a buy on Roku. Sorry for not being clear. Allocation are total amount, not "at risk". Maybe simpler: An allocation is 25K, up to 8. Sold all ZM @ 70.81. Moving to sidelines over the long weekend and Middle East action, ZM did well versus the market. Only position is Roku

Totally getting ahead of yourself. Buying a super expensive hardware Co Location and a seat to save *some* transaction costs will NOT make you profitable when that drawdown occurs. Based on what you posted, MOST people would NOT trade that system. It will only rack up huge commissions. Risk...

Better to lease one first. Try before you buy. Lease is about 2K for 6 months. Besides the spread on a purchase is about 80k right now!

    do not trade index futres.

I agree there are smoother instruments, TN for instance. And yes, to there is easier ways to make money, risk adjusted. Heck swing trading stocks in one of them. And yes for beginners thinking they can master it immediately, they will be disappointed. Maybe back in 1990, but not now. But I...

    do not trade index futres.

No. I would recommend price action more. But truthfully, there is a lot to use and you need to find your own method. Just do it on SIM until you can get consistent and sustainable. The latter is the harder part and best to use scripts to achieve.

    do not trade index futres.

That is like saying when it rains it is too wet. Simply adjust. It is what it is. It is up to you to adjust. If you don't you are punished. Being able to adjust quickly and accurately is a valuable skill, perhaps one of the most valuable in trading. Professionals who work outside...

How long does your Windows 11 Desktop PC take to start?

Best not bloat to begin with, but CCleaner (crap cleaner) is OK. There was an issue about 6 years a where it got infected with malware in a supply chain attack, but that has been since fixed and I have used it once since then.

No Stops. Since these are swing trades it is like slow motion to me. TOST: Sold @ 18.66. Meh entry. small profit ZM: Looking for BE tomorrow. Meh entry again. Looks weak. GTC order placed. ROKU: Looking for the breakout. Will trim 1/2 position if it tests 103 this week. Initial targets...

    do not trade index futres.

Ignore this advice. :p It is how you get experience. There is leverage, liquidity, 23 hour a day action and major moves on news. Also CME currency pairs are regulated. You can do FX without doing "cash" in the "wild west". Please come and enter the Thunder Dome. ;)

When selling a stock would you rebuy into another stock that has a buy signal yesterday or days ago?

Signals are either wrong, late or early. So it depends. That is why you spend a lot of time working on POST-signal tactics. In general, you don't want to wait through a drawn down larger than your profit factor x expected profit x risk tolerance. e.g. you expect to pull in $300 on the...

What and how to effort for profitable trading?

Why do you think so? Couple of points: 1) the fact you are not thinking it is easy and need to do work means you are past level 0 or negative as some poser. 2) If you love it, then just go paper and work on it. There are so many tools that allow you to hone your skills these days without a lot...

Looking to team up to create a trading system for reliable personal investment

OP listen to Schizo. We both trade ES on an active basis. Sure it is a hard one, but if you can't even swing trade*, then the OP has no chance. Better to just work at what you know. * and you won't even know that until you are 100s of trades down the road, and that is years in the making...

Using Machine Learning for discretionary trading

It depends.... If you can code a Heuristic algorithm, then yes. The key here is there are definable rules which the ML can learn. And thereby removing the learning process from an expert human to an Algo. If there is some pattern, then yes. So I would say, the first method, which is the...

Looking to team up to create a trading system for reliable personal investment

This is a good way to waste a lot of time and effort. You are talking about profits and projects. Actual traders don't talk about that unless they are trash talking after too much weed and drinks. The real folks talk about nuts and bolts, details of being in the trench's day after day. They...

How long does your Windows 11 Desktop PC take to start?

Every 4-5years. I try to skip 3 generations of CPU. I buy MSI gaming laptops* in the 2.5K-3K range. I sell them on ebay for about 60% of what I paid, usually to people who are college bound. Been doing it this way for 20+ years. * hooked up to a 5K Dell monitor

Bios 7 seconds, Win 11 Pro 7 seconds. Samsung 2tb pro 980 SSD. These are tools. Know how to "sharpen" your tools. Some people know, other do not. And some don't know it is possible. For BIOS, consult your manual For Windows Right click the task bar: task Manager, Startup. Disable the...

Difference between experts' trading and ordinary trading

Consistency over 100s (1000s) of trades over years. Anybody can string together a few dozen wins in a particular market (Bull, Bear, transitioning). Those that crow about it are often the ones who are toast once the market changes. Even more sad are those who blow it BEFORE the market...
