Snarly Careful, the ER2 is $100 a point. Minimum fluctuation is a tenth of a point ($10). Not sure about volatility since I've only played with ER2 and maybe a little bit of YM. It just so happens that I asked a VP at CME the same question a couple of weeks ago and even he had no data on...

Snarly eMini Russell 2000 Futures quotes for eSignal should be (at least this is the format eSignal used in 2005): AB H7 AB M7 AB U7 AB Z7 The continuous signal is AB #F No idea how eSignal came up with these symbols. Some traders use the Russell as a leading indicator since it...

Snarly Of course you know that this whole thread is about ER2 - that's all T28 trades (or talks about trading on this thread anyway). Volume is less than YM or ES but still plenty there to play with. ER2 and ES trade on the CME, YM on the CBOT. Trade Unit $100 times the Russell 2000...

Snarly Here's something else I am playing with to clarify confusing moves with the SPM setup - at 9:56 it's not too clear what SPM is up to on the ER2 but another, complementary setup may be clarifying things. I have a separate 2 min ER2 window with bollinger bands (20,2), kelter bands...

Sean / Snarly Don't mean to butt in on your dialogue, but FYI - I've been paper trading the SPM (with some of my own spins) with the 2 min ER2 for two months and have created a top down workspace where I can watch monthly, daily, hourly, 5 min, and 89 tick intervals. My 2 min ER2...

T28 Hey - I thought your original handle was banned for good (or bad). They let you off probation or something? Welcome back! With ER2 it would seem that an EMA or weighted MA - something favoring recent prices - might be a bit more predictive (or maybe a bit more whippy?). Don't know...

    Simple Profitable Method

T28 I've been wondering if there is any reason why you use the triangular moving average (which weights the center of the range) for your MA3+2 and MA8+2 as opposed to an SMA or an EMA or any other MA for that matter? jimns

TradeStation alert!! I know I'm quoting myself above - but in case the quoted comments left anyone scratching their head (or anything else) . . . I started playing around with different intervals and noticed that when I went to one tick and ten tick intervals, about 20 minutes of opening data...

Except for the fact that it was right at the open, perfect 2 min ER2 SPM setup and short between 8:34 to 8:38 at ~810.5 to 811 for a $450 to $500 run down to 806 at 9:04. How do you guys feel about getting in at the open like this? J

Snarly I know this question wasn't directed to me but I took the histogram out of my chart because it is nothing more than the difference between the MACD and the MACD Average and I can see that by watching the the width and direction of the two lines. I then added an invisible 10 min chart...

Agreed - just saying it wasn't the ultimate SPM set up. Ain't hindsite great though? Not sure that anyone but God or T28 could have called a $500 run up when the price hit 808.5 at 12:02. Not saying we should have stayed out though. The up signal was clear but it looked like the run could...

Except that it wasn't a classic, first class, 5 star, nearly riskless T28 set up since the 10 min MACD was way below the zero line. J

Razor Here's my chart - I didn't see the early zlc that you saw. I think my chart matches T28's now. J

That's a really great idea beefy - you, Snarly, BB, and JimyJam get all over it tomorrow morning at 8:40. I'll be right behind you. :p J

Thanks T for sharing the keys to your gold. There are so many self-absorbed, egotistical traders out there who think Mr. Market is so efficient that he's hanging on their every word - this is a hugely refreshing thread that you've created.

You are absolutely right. TS lets us choose between ER2 daily which starts charting at the bell and a 24 hour ER2 that's continuous - I switched to the continuous ER2 and came up with your MACD (attached). I remember you mentioning this several times many, many pages ago and I guess I just...

T28 Not up here - the MACD zlc was at 8:40. I skewed my chart a bit to the left so you can see the opening (attached). I'm thinking our our MACD's might be different too? I'm using 12,26,9.

T28 So I'm still not sure what the entry signal was: at 8:38 the 2 min candle blew thru the MAT3-2 (can I call it that since I'm from up there?) at 8:40 the 2 min MACD crossed over above zero and was supported by the 10 min MACD. Also, still wondering what your exit was.
