    Any pacifists out there?

Absolutely right. I was old enough to go to Vietnam and did. Not all of my parts and pieces came back but others suffered more of course. I sure don't want anyone to go through those types of experiences. However, as Hapaboy implies above not all peoples feel the same or have the same...

    The market is whispering something...

For a long time I have been certain there will be a war. But as others have pointed out there may be a coup or Saddam will go into exile somewhere. That still doesn't mean there wont be a war. If Saddam leaves, who will take over? Maybe one of his sons. Net change= zero. So perhaps the...

Anyone else have bad US equity options quotes from IB??

I received this from IB today in response to my email yesterday about this issue. They may not have it completely straight but looks as though they're moving in the right direction. "Thank you for bringing this to our attention. It seems we are showing some merkets with auto ex available...

affirmative on both those issues. I thought the new drivers might make it quiet but no luck. I'm going to reinstall the NT drivers and see if that helps.

Last week I upgraded from WIN NT to 2K Pro. All went well but now I can hear my cursor move across the screen. It is faint but distinct. Also any moving graphic makes noise. It's a low rumble. Very subtle but annoying. Ideas?

Anyone else have bad US equity options quotes from IB??

I noticed this last week that market depth window showed quotes and size that did not agree with quotes in SMART. I put all exchanges on the screen to see if it was possible to hit the best direct. Answer is yes but you're correct that it costs more. Also correct that it's BS. I'm glad you...

    Equidistant Trailing Stop Daytrader

So for my pea brain to understand....am I reading it correctly that run D produced smaller losses ? When you say the trailing stop had a HUGE positive impact are you comparing that to your original runs or the other three here? Is the time change worthwhile on a real dollar basis...

    War and expiration

My guess is late february. If I were running the show I would take the countryside which shouldn't be that difficult and cut all lines of supply to urban areas. I don't think Saddam will last too long if no one is eating after a few weeks. I know all the whining that will come from the UN...

    Equidistant Trailing Stop Daytrader

I have no expectations but do have some curiosity and hope,. Since it's no secret that on a historical basis the markets generally decline at about 10 a.m and 2:40 p.m I thought perhaps entering at the first low and exiting prior to the second might keep a guy from getting stopped out before...

Sounds to me as though you are violating Jesse Livermore's golden rule. You are entering on pullbacks when you should be entering on advances, according to him. We all do that don't we? It just goes against human nature to pay more for something...and that's his point.

Studies show that most days fall into one of two categories, higher or lower days. A study of these patterns reveals that the approximate frequency of occurrence is as follows: Higher day 38 % Lower day 38 % Other 24 % Other represents inside, outside and equal days." INANDLONG...

Microsoft Settles Calif. Suits for $1 Bln

I have given this quite a bit of thought in the recent past. How's this sound? A closed end fund that buys various "public interest" law firms around the nation. The fund will be publicly traded but we also have a tracking stock or ETF. Symbol = SYTR and we'll call 'em "shysters"...

    Censorship on Elitetrader?

\ Actually that exact thing has happened a couple times in the past 4 or 5 years on these boards. I recall a guy who called himself "The Wolf" hawking some option trading program. Not only did he fill the boards but spammed many of us with sales pitches. The members of the boards...

    Censorship on Elitetrader?

...In my post about the censorship poll I was trying to point out that the originator had left off the choice of; "I don't see any censorship" It was not a statement one way or the other. BTW, great post on mid-east history.
