    P4 vs PIII

Just get the most RAM you can afford. It is expensive, I know.. but worth it. You never seem to have enough, especially when you have lots of things running at once.

    Anyone doing swing trading?

HOD= High of day. basically if something that is oversold on a multiday basis makes a new high after the first hour bar. You can buy and put your stop in at the bottom of that bar. I have had a lot of great swings off that strategy. Just look for those names that are oversold with lots of volume...

    Anyone actually succeeding?

I'm making money, and know a lot of traders who are profitable. The fact that I have gotten around to becoming friendly with them probably means that they are good enough to survive. Just cut your loosers. It is more important not to loose your trading stash than to profit. Surviving, especially...

    great new pattern

Thanx to whoever put the chart in, but if you can do it with the volume also, it really shows what I mean (unfortunately it only trades like 50k a day which is a bad example, but these thin ones seem most severe. When a firm wants out of something fast that is thin, then they really knock it...

    Anyone doing swing trading?

the reason i don't use 1/8 above the high of the last bar is that often the last "blow off" day is a large percentage of the total move down encompassed in the 3+ days. I only expect it to bounce back a little... normally like 2/3 of the way or so... Which is why I also scale out. Unfortunately...

    Anyone doing swing trading?

swinging really seems to be working lately actually. I have stopped doing breakouts and started swinging only. Just look for 2+ days down followed by heavy volume on the last day. The next day get long if the stock makes a new hod after the 1 hr bar. Then scale out on the way up using the fib...

    great new pattern

<img align="right" src="/images/epl_chart.gif">Look at what happened to EPL about 2 weeks ago. I see a lot of that panic type selling lately where the stock rolls over, there is volume at the bottom, but then it recovers about 70%. Can anyone think of a scan that would be able to detect these...

    Anyone doing swing trading?

hey, I have done a breakout strategy for 6 months now.. but it doesn't work lately... It doesn't loose per se... but im breaking even mainly. I started swing trading and have done very well. Look for the volume blow offs... buy the next day with a tight stop if it makes a new high... nuff said...

    Datek Goes Direct-Access

if it's browser based, what's the point... by the time you type it in, and type your password, quotes have already moved away from your price....

    Shorting Stocks

on realtick, you can put in a short order under the market, and it will keep ticking down and be the inside offer until filled. Otherwise, just wait for upticks...You want to be putting your short on at the top of a bounce anyway. As for NYSE names, I generally just short at market... The...

    datek

I was happy with datek for listed trades. They truely are the cheapest, and they use superdot just like everyone else. But you must use a direct access broker for everything else. The $5 you save for the trade is irrelevant if you are loosing just one 1/16. On many otc trades it is much more. Im...

    SHORTING BROKERS

I have found that terranova, the parent of mb trading, who uses southwest has a very poor shortlist....You will notice that terranova is changing to instinet to clear.... Does anyone here have any experience with them, and their short lists? I have heard that if you call up and ask, terranova...
