How long does Interactive Brokers take to initially deposit money?

Thanks for the reply. I'm not expecting a big deposit. IB deposits a small amount (probably $0.01) to confirm that the bank account is real. As soon as they accept it, I can deposit my money at IB.

How long does Interactive Brokers take to initially deposit money?

Hi all, I want to connect my bank account to IB. I was told that I should expect a small deposit from IB in my bank account within 2 days of applying. It's been 4 days and I still haven't received any deposit. Does it typically take longer than 2 days to deposit money to my bank account? Thanks

Trading a long neutral butterfly during earnings

Thanks for the reply OptionsOptionsOptions. What would be a better spread given the earnings risk? Would the 24/27/30 spread be better? The problem with that is that the 24 strike has a volume of 2 with a 15 cent difference between the bid and ask. Back to one of my question from the opening...

    Deciphering Options

Hi guys, I'm new to options trading and I'm curious about what these numbers mean. I'm looking at the puts for AVY. I'm looking to sell a put for AVY. For the 190 strike: the open interest = 7, volume= 1, bid size= 120, bid = 0.25, ask = 2.50, ask size = 147. Is the bid size large enough...

    Margin question

Thank you for the reply rb7. Sorry if this sounds like a dumb question, but what's the point of using leverage? I know it can increase your return but it also increases your risk too. Why not just trade with cash only? Thanks

    Mark Minervini's Trend Template Question

Could I just add a high EPS rating from IBD? So it would like this: 1. The current stock price is above both the 150-day (30-week) and the 200-day (40-week) moving average price lines. 2. The 150-day moving average is above the 200-day moving average. 3. The 200-day moving average line is...

    Mark Minervini's Trend Template Question

Thanks for the input. I have another question. According to William O'Neil, founder of Investor's Business Daily, when a stock advances in a bull market it will advance 20% on average after breaking out of a base before going into another intermediate-term base. Would you buy a stock that meets...

Log scale vs linear scale graphs

Which type of price graph do you prefer to use for stock trading? When I look at the daily chart for D. R. Horton Inc (ticker DHI) on Investors.com (IBD) and compare it to the TradingView chart, the charts look dramatically different. Is there an advantage to using one over the other?

How much should I risk per trade?

Hi guys, I'm a relatively new trader. I've read in trading books (eg Market Wizards) that a trader should risk about 1% of his capital on any one trade. But I've also read in William O'neil's books that you could risk more than that. Here's an excerpt from an IBD article on position sizing...
