thanks , I just went on the cboe site and saw they settle AM . When would it make sense to take the position into settlement day (Friday) on these weeklys?? Is it worth it to even do so, or is it wiser to usually just cover them on thursday close to 4 PM??

do the SPX weekly options settle AM perhaps? I checked the CBOE website and it seems they settle PM...

Actually, um, this happened to me last month..in a major way. It was in my ameritrade account (I have a few brokerage accounts just for security and those days when you cant even log into ameritrade...) Anyways, I had a bunch of credit spreads on and didnt realize a dividend was coming on...

thats the great thing- you can cover and reshort so many times in this environment. THey are not letting the market tank. everytime it sinks, they (the Fed, PPT, Goldman) buy it up. so you have many chances to cover shorts and reshort... Trade around the market, but maintain a short bias...

THe $100 calls are trading thousands a day and they expire in 18 trading days....whats up? Seriously, its totally wacked!

i would keep an eye on this one....the premiums are going to be quite rich.. it would need to move another 40 to 50% higher... the 70/75 and 75/80 bear call spreads do look tempting... Going to wait and see how it opens and trades....kudos to whoever had the guts to hold AIG overnight...

did this last month- ran up to 55 or 56 on that short squeeze.... credit spreads were the only real way to go....shorting the common stock too dangerous here...just amazing how fast that monster moves... would definitely look into selling credit spreads way out of the money on aig...not...
