What to do? Let it get called away or Buy to Close?

In effect you have come up with what you see as your break even costs....I think...but THINK about it. You purchased stock at 27.8 then RECEIVED 4.10 in CREDIT right? so now your NET cost of purchasing the stock is 23.70. Granted you have sat on it for two years or so...however as of today...

What to do? Let it get called away or Buy to Close?

May be I'm confused but if you purchased INTC for 27.8 and sold calls for 4.10 isn't your new basis 23.70? did you sell other calls?...If your basis is 23.70 (how do you come up with 26.60?) then at this pt let it get called out..if it is cheap buy back and write new calls. In any event don't...

    SPX Credit Spread Trader

I agree that I can not make a living with $100,000 (in capital) trading options....however I don't have a million $$ trading account either and believe me we could not live on what a T-bill or your average money manager would make for us...(and we live pretty well...)I guess my only point is...

a ton of interest in the FEB 75/77.5 calls so that may be the way to go...sell the call spread for a cr of .95/1.0 then after Jan exp roll down to a diag for Mar (on the put side)....but thats not a great credit..hopefully vol next week will increase and I'll have a chance to snag it for a...

We talked about it earlier in the thread...looking at diff ways to set up these long IC. I had been thinking of trying it out for the last couple of months but it never happened. Riskarb brought up some other ideas of buying a straddle as a hedge and I've looked at that as well. In all...

    SPX Credit Spread Trader

Tough question..I would not change to a bull call at this point with a profit on the hedge...I would either take the profit and close the spread (1305/1315) or let both run...if you take off the hedge then watch very carefully and certainly close the spread early next week if possible..good...
