    Toronto?

It's hard to give you a ball-park figure without knowing what you're looking to rent. If you don't mind living 30 min outside downtown you could get a small apartment for $800 ish... If you are living in a large city now then the rent prices are probably quite similar.

    On Balance Volume (OBV)

volume based indicators. Along a similar vain, you might want to look at the Chaikin Osc.

    Kicking

I did have you in mind to some extent, but I was thinking more in generalities. Recently FTP's alter-ego (no pun intended) threatened to rear his ugly head but didn't, possibly due to a poll that suggested that only GG wanted to hear from him. In your case, I have no problem with any...

    Kicking

In many online - multiplayer games the players have the right to kick an offending player. For example, if I run around killing all my team-mates then I'd get voted off pretty quick. I wonder if we could extend this principle to ET? For example if someone uses bad language or spams they...

A penguin decides to take a trip from the South Pole up to the North Pole (this is a true story, btw). He's driving through Arizona when his car overheats and he is forced to pull over at the side of the road. He calls a tow-truck which takes his disabled vehicle to the local auto shop. The...

    what is this called?

I've never tried the product, so don't take this as an endorsement but: Michael Harris describes a similar idea in his book " Stock Trading Techniques Based on Price Patterns." From what I remember he has the computer go through thousands of data bars to look for patterns. A simple (not real)...

    Baron how about this...??

I agree that such steps prevent abuse to some extent. However, I for one am not a fan of such measures. It seems like every time I'm forced to use a non-hotmail-type address I get bombarded with spam. I recently ordered some IITM products and they saw fit to send me some "additional" unsolicited...

what do you say when people ask you for tips/advice?

what they expect me to know. My friends always ask me the oddest questions - then look at me cross-eyed when I tell them I don't know off the top of my head. "What's the Deutschemark trading at compared to the yen today?" "Will interest rates rise next month?"

    Swing trading

Trust your instincts.. Just 'cause Merc500 suggests day trading doesn't mean that it's appropriate for you. Yes, there is always uncontrolled risk when you carry positions overnight, but that doesn't mean that it's not a viable way of trading. Sometimes those opening gaps work in your favor...

    Are Traders Ethical

I agree that trading has little in the way to offer society. Yes, I am aware of many arguments to the contrary but I'm not entirely convinced. Having said that, I would argue that the "average" trader is probably a fairly moral person. Most of us started trading with the idea that we were...

what's so good about Trade Prospector?

If I wanted to know where the S/R levels for Tuesday's IBM trading range were, would it spit out an answer?

    Swing Trading

Despite the fact that I slammed Trade Station in a previous thread, my swing trading has improved considerably since I began using their product. The difference is that I can test my ideas and see what types of markets they might work on. If you aren't already using something, I strongly urge...

    Trade Station Drops the BALL

I was flipping through a bible that someone on the street handed me and I saw that quote and I thought "Oh, Matthew was a trader! He's saying to cut your losses!" Hope I didn't scare u too badly.

    Trade Station Drops the BALL

I posted this in another thread, but I'm sufficiently pissed about it to ensure that it doesn't get buried... I sent some Easy Language questions in to the EL dept and got an email telling me to use tradestationworld. Are they out of their skulls? Do they expect everyone to post...

    TradeStation? Do they trade?

I sent some Easy Language questions in and got an email telling me to use tradestationworld. Are they out of their skulls? Do they expect everyone to post their strategies in the hopes that some untrained newbie can give them a hand with an EL bug? I just sent Jenette at Trade Station...

Something New For Most Of You

Faster / SuperEgo didn't you see the poll? Everyone thinks you are an annoying piece of .... Why do you think your new alter-ego will be any more popular? We hate you. Go away.

A suggestion for all Tradestation users

I tried your suggestion but when I got to the designated folder all I found were a bunch of alphabetized folders. I opened some of them, but they were all empty. Are you suggesting I should delete all the alphabetized folders?

    Stop Orders

When you use stop market orders you'll end up paying the spread much of the time. This sucks, but you'll have better peace of mind and it will more than pay for itself the few times that you are unable to get execution at your stop limit order. It is especially important if you don't plan on...

    Datek Direct Acess?

Datek has some advantages - namely, it's cheap. But if you want to day trade or do any kind of "fast" trading you should stay away. Datek is web based and the refresh times will kill you. I'd recommend a direct access broker over Datek any day.
