Could you please elaborate on what you mean by dangerous. I really am not good at reading between the lines. but let me try. Are you trying to say that there are multiple API's and there is a conflict that could cause the system to freeze! PLease elaborate. You are killing me... Thanks

    The best platform for futures?

Def. I tend to agree with you and as I have maintained, from the time 2 traders decide to buy/sell the one with the hot keys(which TWS has) will get there faster than a mouse driven order.

    The best platform for futures?

I've been talking to futures brokers the past 2 weeks and have gotten the impression that certain platforms are better than others in terms of speed and reliability. The main reason seems to be their architecture. Could someone (preferably knowlegable in application development) offer a layman's...

    Website for Option Charts???

If you mean charts that plot HV and IV, then your best bet is to poke around ivolatility.com. or optionclub.com I don't think plotting option prices exists-maybe optionvue.com but definitely not free. Even paid services dont plot options other than HV and IV due to enormous bandwidth consumption.

    spread trading

Bone. Good job in explaining the intricacies of stock v. stock pair trading and it's hidden dangers. Look at HD and Low. The only 2 in the home improvement business so intuitively would be a good "reversion to the mean" spread- has been between $2-7$ for a while w/ HD at premium now it is 6$...

ib is not working yet this morning!

IB is unquestionably good when it comes to commission. I use them! BUT, there are firms out there that are slowly approaching their commission rates for stocks and futures w/o sacrificing too much of service. Options are another story their scaled $1/side is untouchable on retail.

ib is not working yet this morning!

Of all the bithing and moaning happening all over the message boards and chat rooms. The previous poster finally suggested a viable and effective way IB might do something about their customer support. Any lawyers trolling these boards?

    Ise

Does anyone here have any experience with busted trades from ISE. I bought calls at 1.45 when market was 1.8 bid /1,85 offered. After I got an execution report at 1.45 the stock tanked hard in the next 2 minutes, I assumed that the trade would'nt be busted since the stock wnet down so I covered...

    Ib "smart"

I was trying to buy 5 BMY calls when market was 1.8bid/1.85 offered. I transmitted using TWS and got a fill for 1.45. I thought this trade would be busted coz it was an instant $175 winner. So i didn't do anything, BMY tanked hard next 4 minutes and I covered by selling the calls at 1.30 so I...

    Conversions / Bullets

Well.... technically it is not a bullet . A bullet is a married put. It is an intrinsic deep in the money put married to long stock. At the end of the day, the long stock is offset by the long put which gets exercised automatically. Long put short call long stock is a reversal or a reverse...
