    Dell Premier Warranty

Here's one for the conspiracy theorists out there... If you paid for Dell's Premier Warranty Support (or Premium Tech Support as it's called in some places on their web site) you may want to call tech support (800-624-9896 for U.S. Home and office) and enter your Express Service Code. I...

    rollover 401K to IRA

Some companies are offering self-directed 401(k)'s - it wouldn't hurt to ask your HR about it. Don't mention futures in your conversation, though. If they hear that word they likely won't hear anything else beyond that point.

    Advice from opton traders

Not that they would have an ulterior motive.. All kidding aside, do NOT base your trading on what the analysts say. Not the quickest way to the poor house; it's the scenic route.

    Developing a Trading System?

I think he's referring to doing a vertical spread, versus selling naked options. One example would be sell an OTM put and buy another, further OTM put for protection. You limit your profit, but you greatly reduce your risk and margin requirements.

    Apple Theoretical Value..

I'm showing AAPL Oct 40 Puts at 38.3% IV, right in line with the rest of Oct. Perhaps the 30% IV is the Aug? (I'm seeing 29% on Aug ATM right now).

    Series 65

I just passed the 65 a week ago. I used the study guide from PassPerfect. It's about $135 for two books, one with the study material and study questions and the other with (6) practice exams. I spent about 25 hrs studying.

RedOption "Learn N Trade" seminar worth it?

Tyler: I did the OptionPlanet Beyond the Basics course today. It was very good for this beginning/intermediate option trader. I learned a lot. The class is x-market makers and/or traders who will take what you've read and tell you what works for a retail trader (and what doesn't). I found it a...

    Help opening individual account

IB: I learned to love IB's TWS for swing trading equities. They were one of the first to offer the more complex order types. I also position traded options with IB. They were good and inexpensive, but the options portion of the platform seemed cumbersome and thrown together. It would probably...

    Help opening individual account

Tyler; from another post I saw I'd assume you're a beginner to intermediate options trader. If you're going to trade stock options I'd recommend thinkorswim. They cost a bit more, but the service and software you get (especially for a beginner) will more than make up for it. IB is a good...

RedOption "Learn N Trade" seminar worth it?

OptionPlanet, RedOption, and thinkorswim are separate, but connected entities. They offer a free basic and a free intermediate/advanced seminar, which may be a precursor to the "Learn" session. However, if you're experienced with options I don't see why you couldn't jump right on in. I...

Type of order: advice for newby

Try a sell limit order at 5.00 for the option. You'll have to enter just before the session tomorrow or, if entered this evening, mark it GTC and cancel it later. IB clears their orders at some point overnight - anything not marked GTC gets cancelled. As for $5 or $6, the limit order is for...

Is Wal-Mart the main reason why we're not seeing major inflation in this country?

I don't set foot in Walmart unless I have to (seen an ad, no luck elsewhere, etc.). I have this pet peeve that aisles are for walking in, not stacking merchandise. I delightfully pay a couple bucks more over at Target.

Anybody use IB TWS with an old computer?

I concur with the Windows 98 memory issues. I crashed occasionally on Win98. XP fixed that problem - can't remember crashing that setup.

Ran it fine with same computer, except 512MB memory, with eSignal running as well.
