My orders with IB went green almost instantly as usual today . (NYSE) . Datek was another story , even one order I phoned in never made it to the exchange.

I installed the new ram from crucial and now I can't even boot up my computer . when i start the computer the monitor self test comes on with a bunch of green horizontal lines moving up and down then it turns blue and then goes blank. Any ideas???

After you installed the new ram and rebooted how did you know that your computer was using the additional ram installed . Can you tell by just right clicking on my computer and reading the amount of ram listed there on the general tab ?

After installing additional ram does your computer automatically start using it or do you have to change some settings?

Say for example I put in a limit order to sell short 100 shrs XYZ stock trading on the NYSE. How does this appear on the specialists book ? Would he know I'm shorting or would it just appear as another out of market sell order for 100 shares . Thank you .:)

I've tried to short about 10 different stocks now all from IB's available for borrow list and have been rejected every time . Keep getting that same rejection box unavail or on upc1180 list .:confused:

How do you traders keep track of all your trades ? I've been manually recording mine on a spreadsheet but I'm sure there is probably a better way .

IB's TWS now working properly with ZA on . The only difference I can notice so far is the pages take about 4 seconds to load instead of instantly . Thanks for all the help everyone .

I downloaded the Zone Alarm and tested it , everything is real secure. The trouble is I can't seem to access or navigate IB's TWS with ZA enabled . After I shut ZA off it worked fine . I use Scottrade for quotes and also noticed with ZA on it took longer for each page of stocks to load . Maybe...
