    The Perfect Prop Firm

Or they can set up different arms that are educational and they make $X per trader they get to take courses. Then on the trading end that trader is already a net positive to the firm so whatever little they make going forward is gravy. Obviously not big bucks so I guess they need new...

    The Perfect Prop Firm

Prop allows you to be a pattern day trader whereas retail will not so it's more than leverage. Its also an advantage to have a trader community in my opinion. Office or remote chat room. Why does everyone talk about "giving up profits" at props? That' just the big props like first new york...

Need Prop Firm for Overnights - Mostly

Hey Don what is the leverage for an intraday only trader no overnights? And can a trader trade his strategy or must I trade one of Bright's such as pairs? That said, if I'm risking lets say 1% of my EQUITY on any given trade for example, I guess I only need so much leverage right?

    The Perfect Prop Firm

First and foremost is honesty 1. reasonable fees 2. reliable software 3. a trader chat room with no additional cost. Bake it into the commission but a fee is annoying. 4. the trader room run by a real trader with a scalable strategy 5. reasonable leverage 6. good education, even if there...

Which Prop Firms provide the best mentorships and training?

They used to tack on to the commissions then charged a monthly fee. Also, if anyone developed a program or any data it's charged also. My guess is its probably $200 to $500 per month to get mentored after all is said and done. The $ might be going to a few people in the chain such as mentors and...

Which Prop Firms provide the best mentorships and training?

I'm pretty sure if you are under a mentor you either pay a higher commission than you would otherwise or you pay a flat monthly fee. If its part of the commission then the mentor is conflicted right off the bat.

Which Prop Firms provide the best mentorships and training?

No, I'm not implying mentors at BT are not making money. I wouldn't know but I'm talking mentors in general. If you want us to buy your course or pay more in commissions to be in your mentoring group (which by the way I think is the case at Bright-- could be wrong) then you need to be...

Which Prop Firms provide the best mentorships and training?

I think the issues arise when mentors imply everyone is making money except you so you end up chasing your tail for months/years trying to figure out what the heck youre doing wrong when the real problem is the strategy has no edge. If no one is making money then say it. But to try to keep...

    Training Program

I have trained (and paid) for training at a couple of places mentioned and I can tell you I have learned a great deal and found it well worth it. It doesnt mean I've made a killing trading yet but it is shortening the learning curve for sure. I find nothing wrong with getting paid to teach...

    Creating A Daytrading Watchlist

I am currently watching the DJ-30 for ideas daily. I am looking for ideas on how others go about creating a daily watchlist. I want to expand to capture better moves (although I like DJ-30). News based lists? Daily movers? Any ideas welcome. Thanks!

    ATR on 15m Chart

If I am using the 14 Day ATR Daily, should I use a different ATR for my 15 minute chart to factor in more data? And if so, how do I go about that?

    ATR For Intraday Trading

Arnie--- I did not know that. Thanks I will look into that. Also, I'm not solely using ATR but it's one thing I'm looking at to create my watchlist. Example: DOW stocks with ATR between X and Y Seems everyone trades the high flyers but most traders lose $ so is there a real edge? Or is...

    ATR For Intraday Trading

For anyone using ATR for intraday trades do you look for a stock with a high ATR so you can capture a small % of the move and have a chance to make money or do you look for a lower ATR to manage risk better. Im thinking an ATR around 75c is manageable for me and it keeps me away from the huge...

How did you do for 2011?

I made 20% on a very small amt of money but I had to prove t myself I can be profitable. If you cant make $1 on $100 then why expect to make $1000 on $100,000. Wasnt trading that small but you get the idea.

    Series 56 - LOL Thread

Question...my friend just took the Series 7 and the paper on top said "Passed" with 182 correct. He is concerned because on the bottom where it breaks down the sections it came out to 179 correct of 250. I took my S7 in 1987 on slate so I am of no help. Any explanations.
