"New York Times public editor: Why we were wrong" (on election)

I found this short article quite interesting. This line really gets me. "Ultimately, Spayd admitted that her publication reduced their coverage of Trump supporters down to soundbites" We certainly do live in times where journalism is no longer reporting the news, factually and unbiased. All...

    Questions for experienced ES daytraders?

Posts should also offer something tangible, and each time you say that you come up with a new strategy while just passing time, I have to want to see a bit more proof. You say you are already all automated, you say you have people doing all the trading for you, so one has to wonder why you keep...

@propwarrior So I wonder if you can update us with your thoughts. First, even before the election results, SP did make it above 2136, which you felt it couldn't, and after the market close, it pushed even as high as 2152 before dropping as the results were coming in. But the highest you said...

Exactly. He makes it sound like its easy and quick money but nothing is stopping him from getting in on futures trading. Of course if he isn't trading futures, there must be a reason for this, and I bet it has something to do with leverage or volatility, in which case, the "easy" factor just...

Too bad the markets are closed? Dude, if you were the hotshot trader you appear to be with your postings, you would just be trading the futures.

True, I do agree there, but the issue was the initial entry didn't hit, and then price dropped hard. Next day it did come up again to hit, but as mentioned before, it wasn't clear if its still in play or not. Either way, you went over that with your post this morning for the GC call so much...

Thanks for the specifics, and especially how to treat these levels. At the current moment, your 1281 GC level is looking very good. The fact that you also mentioned a stop makes this a completely transparent call.

I have tried everything and nothing works (Technical analysis)

Well, yes and no. Certainly the possibility of losing money in the market vs. not in a real job is true, but here is what I would say. Imagine wanting to get into the taxi business these days and having to buy one of those ultra expenses licenses. Do I go the route of investing my time and...

I have tried everything and nothing works (Technical analysis)

I tend to agree as well. Some say the entry is least important but I don't see how this could be. If your entry is good, you're not taking much heat, and if you are, then this tells you right away the trade isn't working so you can get out. As for the edge discussion, I agree as well, but I'm...

I have tried everything and nothing works (Technical analysis)

Although many will fail, there isn't anything out there with a better cost to benefit ratio. It seems like these days, most jobs will become obsolete or taken over in the near future. So going down another road is no guarantee of success in the long term. In addition to this, there is nothing...

I have tried everything and nothing works (Technical analysis)

I'm always curious about what people consider an edge. So instead of asking what you're doing now, which you clearly aren't going to say, can you comment on what it was that you thought worked only to discover that it didn't? I imagine its something like every morning after 10:30, so and so...

    Questions for experienced ES daytraders?

For the past few days, all your posts have been about what can't be done, how nobody know anything, how everyone loses, etc. I'm not exactly sure what you're after anymore. Are you looking for help? Are you looking to teach? On the one hand it sounds like you're saying you know everything...

    Questions for experienced ES daytraders?

You make it sound like everything else is equal. You sure you can get 10 points on your winner? Some days, the entire range is 10 points, so your target of 10 points is impossible on many days. The 2 or 3 point targets would be more plentiful.

I don't think you said any of this. Please show where you prepared us for both of these run ups. And once again, you said that 2142 was a good place to take a short, and we never reached that level and closed much lower. You could have updated the next day that 2142 short was still in play...

    ES Journal - 2016

Like I said, in my opinion, it doesn't matter what the value of the contract is. All that matters is average stop, average profit, win rate, some reasonable buffer for consecutive losses, etc. A 10k account is plenty for a trader with an edge to trade 1 or 2 contracts.

    ES Journal - 2016

LOL... how is this simple? Listen, who cares about the value of 1 ES contract. All that matters is how much your broker says your intraday margin is and how many contracts you trade. All the other stuff you mention is I think pointless. Your account size doesn't matter, and the only margin...

    Questions for experienced ES daytraders?

Clearly the broker is getting richer with more trading. But what matters most is how much you make in total, after all costs. With smaller targets, you might get many more trades for the day, but have to work harder. With larger targets, perhaps you can sit back more. At the same time, if...

    ES Journal - 2016

Ok, great. Now when you say you made 12.25 points on your trades, and then you say you made the equivalent of 122.50 ES points, this would mean you made $6,125. The only way for this to happen would be with 10 contracts. So is your number of contracts per trade different than 10? It just...

    ES Journal - 2016

Honestly, we are all very confused. Here is a straight question. On Wednesday, when you said you had a net gain of 12.25 points, how many contracts were you trading for each trade? (ie. your first trade was +1 points, how many contracts did you enter short? was this also the same number of...
