    IB and account values after mkt close??

    I'm not sure you can wait until your daily statement is created (usually the morning after), but I use that as my final tally for open positions.

    IB YM Execution not reported by TWS

    What I was trying to say is this change bug could be located only in the TWS manual order entry system. By using your front-end you communicate to the TWS through the API, which might circumvent the bug (i.e., your orders won't ever disappear).

    IB YM Execution not reported by TWS

    Who knows - your new front-end might eliminate this change bug.

    IB YM Execution not reported by TWS

    Yes, something seriously wrong if this is what happened. The TWS should not "lose" orders. You have a good case - I would pursue it til someone caves. Be persistent.

    IB YM Execution not reported by TWS

    Hmmm... maybe IB should fix this? Next time it happens, write all the details you can about what happened and send them to tac@interactivebrokers.com

    IB YM Execution not reported by TWS

    So you had your original buy order up and then you started to modify the price but before you hit transmit, the original order got filled (before the price change)? If this is what happened, then IB should eat it. Reaching here, but is it possible you have some weird shortcut mapping that...

    IB YM Execution not reported by TWS

    Seems like you need to call somebody at IB. They should have a complete log of what happened and you should be able to pinpoint a system error on their part. If it is an IB system error, they should eat it.

    IB YM Execution not reported by TWS

    Did you ever enter an order at this price level? If so, did you cancel it? Did you get confirmation of the cancel? Did you try modifying the original order? If so, did you receive confirmation of the modification? Was there an IB system error at some point that you were aware of? For...

    Wow, QdzResurrection with the timely scoop! There are no other threads talking about this! Thanks!

    IB Downtime

    Yes, 4:07 EST, I always get logged out of my TWS. It recovers about a minute later. Anyone from IB want to comment? Def? Seems like a regularly occurring problem like this could be easily found.

    Ameritrade won't let me short QQQ

    I haven't had this problem with IB. I remember a while back Cramer was talking about how the QQQs were hard to borrow so he was looking for a squeeze. I wrote him an e-mail saying that I didn't have a problem borrowing the QQQs through IB and I had a hard time believing the QQQs in general...

    C vs. C++

    Here you go: http://www.rubycentral.com/book/index.html From what I can tell Ruby is more OO oriented than Python (in the same way Smalltalk is more OO oriented than Python). I've written programs in a lot of languages and the language I most enjoy writing in is Ruby. I find that I am...

    Unfortunately, this strategy only works for the "big" players.

    COCO stories

    COCO fiasco today is unbelievable. NASDAQ has sunk to a new low after allowing the stock to trade before the busts were finalized. Reminds me of the time a disgruntled NITE employee sold lots of shares at approximately $1 a year or so ago. At least that was the story. These screwups will...

    C vs. C++

    PEG Dividend

    How sure are you of this? Seems like at 4:00:01pm you would see people trying to pick people off in the after-market. If it is as you say, then it seems to be a pretty stupid way of doing things. Please post a reference.

    Worst order-entry error you've made

    People still try to play this game... sort of a "used car salesman" way to trade.

    Break Trade Time Limit Question

    Different for different exchanges. Most ECNs are 15 minutes, however they always have a clause saying they can break anytime after 15 minutes depending on their discretion.
