RE: Tax Rate for Interactive Brokers Ideal Transactions - 60/40 Qualified?? Buying Aussies and Loonies via IB Ideal sure seems like "Cash Forex" to me, but we are down to IRS Semantics now. ====================== Green ==================== "Many currency traders transact in both...

10 Pips Per Day - Everyday

CableTrader: I did trade stocks for a long time, but acutually this is only my first full year of doing currencies. I have to admit that it really was more luck than brains on the April trade. The big Nov drawdown proved that to me ... LOL. I have a long way to go ... again. The...

TraderKGB: I appreciate your challenging my statement about tax rates on cash forex. It would not be the first time IRS rules were unclear and unfairly damaging to our family's wealth. Question: Is holding Aussie or Loonie Cash Dollars in my IB account viewed by the IRS as being the same...

Giles117: Your multiple timeframe (15m, 30m, 1H) suggestion is the second time that popped up in this thread. Are you waiting for all three timeframes to signal a buy? What indicator(s) do you use to make the cut? Best Regards, T200K :D

Giles117: I too develop with AMIBROKER. I have used AMI for about 6 years now and am hard pressed to find an easier to program system...though I wish it could display autotester trades like NinjaTrader including stops. Ninjatrader's wizard mode doesn't offer enough flexibility for what I want...

10 Pips Per Day - Everyday

CableTrader: My experience has been in stocks for the last 15-20 years. I caught the REIT wave for about 60% of its run and then went on to three nice years in Canadian Trusts before the Halloween massacre created by the Canadian Finance Minister that badly damaged the sector when too many...

10 Pips Per Day - Everyday

In the Lien and Schlossberg book "Millionaire Traders:How Everyday People are beating Wall Street at their own game", the authors interviewed an interesting trader (Hoosain Harneker) from South Africa that found success in the plan of taking 10 pips per day...consistently. At first the small...

    1% a week

I heard second hand that programming to IB's API bypasses TWS entirely. If that is correct...would I still have to manually use the security dongle to start a session just to get data that is bound for a chart package from IB's server farm? (No orders on that session) In the process of...

Best Thing for U.S. Economy: Raise Taxes

Following the logic that we would be better off if the govt taxed more...then we would really be better off if the govt taxed us 100% of our earnings ... right? The other side of balancing the equation is for the government to spend less...way less. Maybe even the tax system needs changing...

    IB charting vs. QouteTracker charting??

I love QT for charting. The backend with IB works flawlessly and the multiple ways to setup every chart is unsurpassed for daily work. I have used IB for years and am generally satisfied. The paintbar system added recently is a big step up for QuoteTracker, but I still don't have my trading...

    AmiBroker w/IQFeed RT... comments plz

I have used AMIbroker for about 5-6 years now. I have done some pretty oddball system design trials and have never been been stopped because of lack of capability. I have been stuck plenty of times, but email support always gets me going. I did have IQ Feed for a while to get at intraday...

Oil is going to $70+ per barrel

Michael, The Globe and Mail ran an article from Bernstein saying the large/small speculators have 'deformed' the market ... and when they unwind, oil will be pulled down to $30-$40. http://www.theglobeandmail.com/servlet/story/RTGAM.20070212.w40oil0212/BNStory/ I looked at the COT...

    Interesting COT report on Oil

My mistake....commercials only increased their long position by a net 35.000 long contracts. That would absorb a lot less of the speculator selling volume doing the Lemming Shuffle to the exits. Thoughts?
