I think NYSE exchange fees are like ECN fees, Goldman might have them accounted for in a "all-in" type commission which is why you don't see them being charged? Semi-guessing here. I can't imagine the fees are that much, IB quotes them as being 0.0008 for removing liquidity.

I was going to write up a simple module for Laser that would have something very similar to that, but finding documentation for compiling modules is impossible to find. However, you could still use Excel to hack up some sort of order entry along those lines if you really wanted to, I suppose.

Laser has no "complex" orders/management like that; as far as I can tell. Are you just scalping or swing? You could look into thinkorswim, if you're doing some swing trading.

Pretty sure you can logoff when using route= Stop. Only when using OMS stops will you have to worry about your platform being on. And yes you can use on either short or long positions as long as your set your buy/sell right.
