Anyone doing business with this firm as a futures prop? Website is not very clear on what they require as proof of profitability. Thanks.

    TopstepTrader Q & A

If they paid out around $3M, that means TST made around $750,000. I doubt that sustains the firm. The monthly fees and resets have to account for more than that. So it was a good question you asked.

    $100K withdrawal from MES Capital

Hi - Is that a funded account or one of their combines? Either way, your stats look pretty good.

The main reason why doing business with these get-funded programs is a bad idea...

It comes down to a plan. I don't think a new, inexperienced trader should waste their money on one of these programs. However, if a trader has a trading plan that they have confidence in through their first-hand work and experience, then why not? And I know the retort of "why not trade your...

The main reason why doing business with these get-funded programs is a bad idea...

I understand your rationale and I agree with you for the most part. But if a trader made it to $12,000 with their strategy using the scaling plan, what's to say they couldn't continue? It may be improbable, but not impossible. It is about proportionality. If you can trade 5 lots with their...

The main reason why doing business with these get-funded programs is a bad idea...

I see your point. Well I guess it comes down to a personal preference. If you're able to accumulate the $12,000 to trade 15 lots, perhaps it's worth it.

The main reason why doing business with these get-funded programs is a bad idea...

It's an opportunity for someone who doesn't want to put up the margin. As I explained previously, a cushion of $5,000 to trade 15 contracts is a lot less than putting up $15,000 in your own account.

The main reason why doing business with these get-funded programs is a bad idea...

I would assume that the company is allowed day trading margins for all sessions. That would mean that the trader would have to exit a trade before session close and reopen the trade in the new session. It's my understanding that none of the companies allow overnight trades. I may be wrong on...

The main reason why doing business with these get-funded programs is a bad idea...

I didn't know there was a company that would allow a $150,000 account to go below the initial value. What company is that? Thanks.

I don't understand your thinking here. Let's say you're trading the $150,000 account with OneUp. You can trade up to 15 contracts. In a funded account, they require a $5,000 cushion (which is your money). If you trade 10 contracts, the exchange margin requirement is $1,000 per contract on...

Trying to Manage these Trading Combines. Anyone else?

That's hysterical! They play with your money while you wait patiently. I've seen a few posts from Black on TW. They guy is a loser. He trades oil and takes huge hits. Obviously, he's done with trading and will now join the prop firm band wagon. He probably figures he can make more money...

Choice between Topstep and Oneup ?

"Your initial starting balance +$100 is the draw down limit" What happens if your first and second trade go bad and you lose the $100? Is the account closed?

Choice between Topstep and Oneup ?

Why do you think it's better when their withdrawal rules are so stringent? Thirty days before you can withdraw? Seems like they're playing with trader's money during the month.

Choice between Topstep and Oneup ?

Hi - You seem to have experience with all these firms. Which one, in your opinion, has the most straight forward program? In other words, they all seem to have a "gotcha" hidden somewhere which you don't see until you're actually funded. Leeloo's withdrawal schedule is ridiculous. They're...

    TopstepTrader Q & A

How does this new "20 second" rule work? At what point does a person fail - during the trial period or when he reaches the profit target? For example, if on any given day, your trades average 18 seconds, you're out? Or when you reach you profit target and all your trades average less than 20...
