    Do Trendlines work?

Here are some lines like I draw. These are what I term reversal lines. They are essentially short term lines anywhere from 1/4 of a session to 2-3 days (if you get follow-through the next trading day). They usually change DAILY for the most part. That is there is often a trend change day...

    Do Trendlines work?

Some interesting lines which may have helped your trading for the day. I admit the reversal (at least for me) was a surprise, however sticking to my principles of short term trading and letting the market tell me where to go I followed the reversal rather than fighting the am reverse. The...

    Do Trendlines work?

A study in dependency. If a 60 min bar makes a HH or LL the next bar(s) are more likely to move in that direction. That is when not range bound. It is easy to see when the price is rangebound at least retrospectively. It helps to have a system or rules to determine within your own...

    Predicting Range Days

Well, Range, what range? Vix @ a 7 yr low. Look @ weekly ATR and you'll see ES which has historically been a very volatile market is @ 25 pts/5 days.

    Look Ma, no indicators!!

I was simply getting others to think about a BO. All BO's are not alike. Yearly, monthly, weekly, daily, 2 hr, 30 min, 15 min 5 min, 1 min "breakouts" all differ. If the ATR for a 2 week period is 50 and a move is ready to "BO" but the 2 week range is already 60 points you might want...

    Look Ma, no indicators!!

So if a move is "80% complete" statistically in the fractal you're monitoring and a BO occurs do you a) Take the trade and hope for the best b) Scalp c) Fade d) Pass I think you need point of reference and a plan. This helps me at least, FWIW.

    Predicting Range Days

You can look at: up, up, ? down, up, ? up, down, ? down, down, ? close on LOD close on HOD Type of "down" Type of "up" etc. But entry and exit, mostly exit is still critical to profitability. And of course news and "events" trumps everything else. FWIW
