    Basket Trading...

    1) I use market orders when I execute the basket. Generally I only trade stocks with >100K average daily volume so slippage isn't usually a problem, plus I am trading intermediate term moves (few days to sometimes a few months, usually somewhere in between, when is goes a few months I am...

    Basket Trading...

Over the last few years I have discovered and tested what I call "Basket Trading." Basically, buying or selling a group of stocks in one button push. Right from the start this strategy has proved very successful and has gotten even more successful with refinement. I have started a group...

who are the best traders in the world?

My selection would be ED SEYKOTA. And the beauty is that you can learn from him, he hosts a website with a great FAQ section. www.tradingtribe.com just one word of warning, don't ask him any stupid questions or any questions specific to his trading system.

CANSLIM stocks to watch for Feb 19, 2003

Kowboy, IBD does offer scanning/screening software. Part of the Daily graphs package. Cost is about $100/month or $1000 for the year... works well. Look for the three stocks you mentioned to base again and then break out with the market again... if the market decides to follow-through...

cutting losses % ?? (position trades)

up to a certain point it doesn't really matter how much you risk on the trade... what matters is what percentage of your equity do you risk on a trade... I probably wouldn't recommend much more than 2-3% for the average trader. If you using Volitility, 2-3x ATR usually works pretty good...

    William O'neil ''canslim'' method

Phoenix is correct... I personally have a friend that turned $500K into over $10 million in the 1990s trading the CANSLIM method... for the last three years he has been trading another strategy and mostly churning... he is waiting for the right market conditions to put his equity back to work...

    William O'neil ''canslim'' method

If you can post triple digit returns during bull markets you won't have to worry about trading during bear markets, that is if you are uncomfortable with shorting.

    William O'neil ''canslim'' method

You quoted David Ryan from Market Wizards. If the CANSLIM method doesn't work then how did Mr. Ryan achieve triple digit percentage returns trading CANSLIM. I guess it was just fluke that he won those US investment challenges. I don't disclose my trade specifics over message boards. I...

    William O'neil ''canslim'' method

If you go back and study the Nasdaq Comp chart you will see what I am talking about... I am not going to argue with you because it is evident to me that you don't understand the method.

    William O'neil ''canslim'' method

Interesting that the "M" in CANSLIM stands for Market and in June 2001 we were in a clear downtrend (bear market). Anyone that would of taken these longs is not a CANSLIM trader. Also, a real CANSLIM follower never risks more than 7-8%. I don't see how you could of lost 45 points trading WGOV...

    William O'neil ''canslim'' method

I use the CANSLIM approach and have found it to be one of the best. Some of the earlier posts are correct... the "M" in CANSLIM stands for Market. The Market direction must be up in order for this strategy to work great. Currently, the best place to be is on the sidelines with the wallet on...

The most excellent way to pick great stocks

Why not just trade the IBD CANSLIM method? O'Neil's results are proven and two of his students have won top prizes in US investment challenges. IMO, the "M" in his method is what will yield superior returns. The current "M" environment is very difficult to achieve 100% plus annual rates of...
