Price TA... Trade What You See!

    Wouldn't matter how busy... I wouldn't bother. :)

Price TA... Trade What You See!

Meaning what, exactly? (And you're right... I AM the Big Dog of Technical Analysis.. though few recognize it.) :)

Price TA... Trade What You See!

I ain't joking. Fly to Colorado with a cashiers check made payable to me for $1,000,000 and see how fast I refuse it.

Price TA... Trade What You See!

Where have you been? Do you not pay attention at all? I never said "Price TA" would forecast double tops, double bottoms or ANYTHING ELSE! You argue like mye wife. STOP, please!

Price TA... Trade What You See!

Like I said... "Chapter One" in Trading for Dummies. You'd be surprised how few get it. Accumulation/distribution? That concept doesn't directly apply to Price TA... whatever "they" are doing and for whatever reason... is reflected in the net buys/sells... which is displayed in the price...

Price TA... Trade What You See!

Absolutely NOT. If you offered me $100,000 I wouldn't bother. The only teaching I'd do would be for $10 Million. Who would pay that? Someone/institution to whom $10 Million was pocket change... money they could recover quickly because of their size. (Why $10 Mil? I could do something with...

    Why the big bounce today?

My guess... the 10-yr traded @ 5% overnight. That would be one of those "big, round numbers" the markets like to fade... has traded back to 4.74% as of now. Today the markets playing for 5% to be the lid. Stay tuned.

Price TA... Trade What You See!

More trade what you see.... sell resistance, buy support. Tops line... the 3rd (fat) arrow was the indication. The 2nd arrow might have been caught as a "matched high" that came up a little short. Support and Resistance are NOT a specific tic... they are a small zone... an "area" of...

"Do trendlines work?" + Confluence of support... SP 4200?

You're wrestling with "counters"... moves against you position. Counters are always an issue. Price TA doesn't solve that for you, but it helps a great deal.

"Do trendlines work?" + Confluence of support... SP 4200?

That happens too. Sometimes your mind is the Devil's weapon.:)

"Do trendlines work?" + Confluence of support... SP 4200?

No "talent" required to trade Price TA... just "trade what you see... with a tight stop".

"Do trendlines work?" + Confluence of support... SP 4200?

All of what you said is true. You have to manage your trade, you kow. With the Buy at B-C, you have the "start". After that you have to play it by ear. When you learn more about Price TA, you'll learn about the indication that would have told you to sell very near the 20 point bounce high...

"Do trendlines work?" + Confluence of support... SP 4200?

You know the market can turn a bit early or overshoot a bit. (Unless you're thinking, "that's close enough" when the market turns up early, you miss... at least I do.) That's why you have buffers on your play. Some plays hit almost/on the tic. Suggest drawing your lines with a "wide-tip...

Price TA... Trade What You See!

What I should have said... "If you know Price TA and you're paying attention... and you didn't get this trade, then you were a "bonehead" for missing it.... I mean, GEEZ... that was "flashing green light" buy. (Of couse if you don't know Price TA or were romancing your secretary at the time...

    What are your trading habits?

My favorite... 1. Market approaching big support/resistance where I'm supposed to buy/short. 2. Makes me nervous, so I go take a dump 3. By the time I get back, the market has turned and I missed it. 4. "Relief" on both ends. :)

"Do trendlines work?" + Confluence of support... SP 4200?

The start of this thread suggests possible "Buy @ 4200" on the SP. You could have placed a limit buy order there and it would have been (still is) totally legit. Problem so far... didn't get there. May or may not still.

How difficult would it be to fill 500k SPX option contracts?

If I were you, I'd try trading 5 or 10 lots first and see how that goes.

"Do trendlines work?" + Confluence of support... SP 4200?

Have to be careful on the notion of "every". That's more correct when trading with the trend. Of course you can play for a counter move... just be ready to take profits quickly and not "give it the benefit of the doubt" when it's going against you. IOW... stop out and take your hickey. Don't...
