Hey, IB commission is 0.005$/share or minimum 1$ with max 1% of the trade value. If you are trading 10,0000 shares with IB that would be 50$ commissions but with Questrade it would be 9.95$. But the question to why more traders and professionals use IB rather than Questrade or any other...

for ninjatrader no I wasn't using IB data but for motivewave I was connected to it through IB API

Try motivewave and ninjatrade, I got the same problem. Ninja trade I had only one chart opened. Took a few seconds to load. Motivewave I had between 6-10 charts open, some timeframes take a lot of time to load almost same or more than TWS and the market is not even open.

I will check back tomorrow and get back to you. Yes sometimes TWS opens the chart no problem but other times it says "Attempting to retrieve data" or sometimes the chart loads on some timeframes but it doesn't on others like El_Cubano posted above

Yes that is exactly what I get as well. It is really weird as sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't or sometimes it works but then a few seconds later it freezes again when you switch timeframes.
