Options are the Biggest market: There is $1.2 quadrillion invested in derivatives alone.

Well if Paul W says so it must be true. After all, he's written numerous books on the subject. We little traders here could never ever figure this out on our own.

Are Your S/R Lines Better Than Random?

If the market did not have fakeouts, it would cease to function as a market. The markets exist to facilitate trade. And give lonely guys something to write about.

Are Your S/R Lines Better Than Random?

Let's see, s/r lines drawn at random on a chart show that random s/r lines appear to show randomness. Just like using a computer to generate random series shows that there are random patterns in randomness. So what? Traders trade their beliefs about the market, not the market. There is no market...

Easiest way to invest in other countries' currency?

Yeah I was going to say, the last thing I want to do is add to the pile.

Easiest way to invest in other countries' currency?

Sorry my bad. Just seeing if you were paying attention. I was probably thinking of USD/cad spread.

Easiest way to invest in other countries' currency?

FXC. Probably not as liquid as fxe(euro), fxy (yen) etc. Remember the Canadian dollar has been strongly negatively correlated to oil. Also you are not actually holding Canadian dollars that you can go and pick up in Canada or the US if that's what you are thinking. It's a blip on a computer...

YouTube channels that actually teach useful information?

Just listened to an interview with Ben Lichtenstein of Traders Audio. He calls the SnP pit. I used to use it trading the emini SnP. It's a luxury I wouldn't want to do without. He said they now have a forex product. I'll have to check it out. Thanks again Savoy--this thread has made me dig a...

    Trading by the Moon

Not to mention that it would also spark a riot here at ET

    Trading by the Moon

He thought that T/A was too subjective--you could take the same indicator and plug different numbers in for different results. It actually makes a lot of sense and is one reason I try to stay away from T/A as much as possible.

    Trading by the Moon

I assume it's in the vein of this thread in some way. If true, I'm all for it. I asked Jimmy Sloman years ago what he based the trading system he sold to Welles Wilder on. He said he had been looking for entries that didn't use traditional T/A. So he used astrology.

    Trading by the Moon

Wow that's awesome. I forgot to mention earlier that if you pay attention you can see traders getting crazy around the full moon right here at ET. It's the guys who deny it the most that are usually the ones all flippy and stuff.

YouTube channels that actually teach useful information?

Right now I'm restoring a 97_Volvo big truck. Blasting and painting now. I tried trading in the morning and doing this but found I was exhausted in the afternoon. Need to focus and get through this cause all the Money is tied up in the truck. But once it's on the road I can make 2k a week and...

YouTube channels that actually teach useful information?

Yes. I started out trying to make money and ended up knowing myself and the world better. I spent almost 15 years learning from a guy who's life's work was inference as it applied to the markets. I never knew in the beginning that anything like that even existed.

YouTube channels that actually teach useful information?

You'll be fine as long as you keep an open mind.

YouTube channels that actually teach useful information?

I thought maybe you fell in love. Anyway I've been enjoying your thread, checking out some of the sites. That 71 was great but you'd have to have a grasp of market profile, like wrb-- said. I do and my head is still spinning. He's got lots of pretty things going on with the charts. But I believe...

    Trading by the Moon

Yes, but its just another indicator. Used to use it on Es, but like everything else in trading, context is key. I like a good panic, so if I see everyone leaning too far one way or another, the full moon could be it. I'm pretty emotional anyway, more like a chick. I plant flowers and nurture...

YouTube channels that actually teach useful information?

Thanks for that info. I briefly looked at the site and liked it. Once in awhile hanging around ET pays off. Funny, but as usual the newbie who started the thread is MIA. Sigh. . .

In your opinion/experience, what are the most succesful trading styles/methods etc.

The only thing I would add is in forex you can cut your size down to a very small level. I've traded es and its hard to manage the size when you start out or when you're cold. It took me awhile to get used to the way the currencies trade though. Stocks are useful if you can read the sector...

YouTube channels that actually teach useful information?

Some people benefit from watching the tape, but it seems that the more analytical someone is, the more they gravitate towards systems and math. When I first started daytrading I had no idea what I was looking at, so I took LBR's suggestion and just wrote prices down every 10minutes in the SnP...

YouTube channels that actually teach useful information?

LBR has a good post on YouTube. It's long. There's a lot there. My reaction to it was she is still doing the same thing after years. It's just more refined and she keeps learning. And sharing. She used to have an end of day service where you could review their trading and access her annotated...
