Let's make a Naz model of the NYSE/AMEX

Sounds like the score was specialist:1, bung:0 today :) Your speed bumps were far too generous. How about 30 seconds for the order to appear and 30 seconds to modify/cancel? I tried to play with the ARO spec today, but he didn't want to play, so I took my marbles and went home :)

You must not have tried that before ;-)

OCA orders on IB... please confirm/help

Yes. Transmit Page doesn't know anything about the orders on the page - it just sends them as if you had hit Transmit on each individually.

    IB alarms

Maybe we can look at it from a different angle. People who are using TWS alarms: please post your system configuration (video card/driver version, OS, java version, sound card/driver version). It might be helpful to know from IB exactly how the sounds are triggered. Which API and what...

    Comission and Bullet Rates

Quote from JK9: For the rest of us, .003 is a pipe dream. Any broker that would offer under .005-.006 per share for all but the biggest traders is either:... Depending on what and how you trade, it's not necessarily a good rate because of the ECN charges that may be added. If you routinely...

    IB alarms

I've seen it on NT4 and Win2K, but quite some time ago. I've seen others complain about it periodically. It doesn't come up for me any more because I just don't use the alarms.

Others (including me) have seen this problem too. Unfortunately, it seems difficult to reproduce, so it isn't getting fixed.

NQH3 IQFEED vs IB Quote difference

Can you post the quotes and the exact times? It's easy enough to check against the T&S to see who's right. Given IB's volume in the minis, it's not likely they are off by 1-2 points. You'd definitely hear about it :)

    Big Block trading

Any clue exactly what rule this is supposed to break? It seems to be a fundamental component of trading to not reveal one's true size immediately when working a potentially market-moving order. I know the option exchanges have this rule, ostensibly designed to prevent abuses of auto-ex. I...

For listed stocks, how do i direct my order to

fattyasids: I suppose "limited" is relative to what/how you trade. If you trade during those circumstances alot, "limited" would indeed seem to be an exaggeration :) What stocks do you trade, and when? If you split up an order and send it to multiple sources, that would definitely seem to be...

    Why no IB bb stocks...

As tuna alluded to, IB's current pricing model doesn't work well for low-priced stocks, which is a good reason for not bothering with it, since they wouldn't get much traffic for the trouble. There are, of course, other nuisances, like the increased incidence of trade disputes, non-firm...

    IB's data feed

I'm not sure what you mean. You can use any quote provider you like while still using TWS (or anyone else) to execute your orders. ESignal and others also provide the ability to use their user interface to generate orders and direct them to TWS.

IB Afterhours Trades Don't Show Up on Execution Reports

Bung: Did you do those trades on a different machine? All it does is convert the FIX .rpt files that the Executions window is based on into text format, so if you don't see it in the exec window, it won't be in the file. If you do trades on machine B, they will not consistently be pushed to...

    desk fees...black box...

I supposed I asked for it... I make more money than at least 90% of America, I live pretty well, and pay my broker enough to keep him happy. I'll put my risk and profitability stats up against anyone's. Seems pretty worthwhile to me.

    SuperMontage vs. ISLD Hidden Orders

Yes, INCA has a number of bizarre order types, including discretionary orders, which display one price and size but will execute at a better price, should someone post an opposing order that locks/crosses this hidden superior price. From past experience, other than ETFs, INCA subs seemed to be...

For listed stocks, how do i direct my order to

In my experience, in all but a limited set of circumstances*, you will get an inferior fill when going to an ECN instead of NYSE during market hours. Most of the time, if you get a fill, it's because someone else who is better aware of the floor market took you out and flipped it to the floor...

    IB's data feed

Nasdaq Level II is $40 at myTrack (or included in the $95 platinum plan), plus the $10 exchange fee. It is $79 at IB, including the $10 exchange fee. It is included in the $99, $189, or $395 packages at eSignal, plus the $10 exchange fee.

    Why NYSE market orders SUCK

If someone's working a big order as principal, I don't think they have to print the "clean-up" trade transferring the stock to the customer until they are done, which could theoretically be days. In practice, I think they usually try to clean up at the end of each day if it takes multiple days...
