"thinking" is only before the evidence. I haven't yet used stops.

I don't know why you're apologizing for the specialists. I don't think they're your friends.

Perhaps there should be a list of "practical warnings" in risk disclosure of brokers.

No stops, wasn't even strategizing a trade (which is what I usually do) just tried to hitch a ride when I saw the thing go flying, then couldn't believe my eyes how quick & efficient that reversal was. As an afterthought, I would imagine they just removed the balancing bids to create panic &...

I only lost about $1k from this last monkey-businesses and naturally adjust trading activity to account for this type of stuff. I'm speaking on behalf of the $5 billion I would estimate people lost, if not from this time alone, then from previous times as well; also speaking about other rigged...

You mean if I lose and everyone else loses, and we all lose cuz the thing is rigged.

To the best of my knowledge, there are those who are exempted from that uptick rule; whoever was manipulating the stocks is obviously exempted. It is crooked if that exemption is meant to give some parties an unfair advantage, especially the ones who are in the biggest position to influence.

In a tug-of-war, there's pressure in both directions and some neutrality. This 180 degree reversal was too instant and drastic; it hardly had a moment of neutrality. IMO, only if the specialists conspired could such a sudden move have occurred.

LOL, if that's the case, then my point is that much stronger. Competition between retail guys and whatever the specialists fancy?

This is the way I see it. I would love to hear from someone like Rearden Metal: The stocks were raging forward upon the Fed's announcement not to raise rates with money pouring in to the market. Suddenly, the ENTIRE market did a 180 degree turn and went raging in the other direction...

    Today's action

Now I'll be a bit more daring: I believe EVERY retail trader who was at the computer at the time of the announcement and saw the market taking off, immediately changed their mind about market direction, and got messed up--if they had enough time to place orders.

    Today's action

Are you both telling me when the market started going up mad right after the announcement you still felt confident about your positions? I know I tried to hitch a ride, and would assume any/every other retail trader with a quick platform also tried.

Did you also predict the after-mkt correction?

    Today's action

I think we saw from today to what extent markets are manipulated. They swang the market back and forth 5-10 times within 30 minutes it seemed, all for the purpose of shaking out anyone trying to hitch a ride. My conclusion: don't make your buying and selling decisions in front of the...

With the V. before, nothing is accepted. WIthout the V. before, it's a totally different stock. What does one enter?

Can one trade such a stock like "V.AGM" = Aldridge Mineral Corporation with an American brokerage? Meanwhile, it seems to me the symbols starting with "V." are not recognized with American brokerage firms?? Please advise.

    Cheapest Options Commissions?

Choicetrade offers $.75 per contract without cancellation fees, but with minimum order size, etc. I have also negotiated really good rates with 2 other brokers because of a volume.

    Rearden Metal appreciation thread.

Sorry for bringing things back to the topic... See my DRL thread, where I was quite convinced DRL hit a bottom mostly based on fundamental analysis, while Rearden was convinced DRL had only started it's move down mostly based on technical analysis. I stood to my position. Rearden was right...
