Well I changed my mind and closed it out this morning for a bigger loss than I would have liked. There are a lot more places with less risk I would rather put my money.

That's a very good point. I just checked, didn't realize they are up more than double what I paid now, so I might lock in half and let the other half ride for now.

I might start to sell these BTU bonds soon, just realized they are up over a double now. If they file, this will be my first BK experience with bonds as I am new to all of this. I need to do some more research into estimating recoveries and what not to see what would be the best way to play...

Do you have any thoughts on BTU? I bought their bonds a couple weeks ago, and got a nice rally out of it. I am thinking if they file the recovery will be greater than what I paid as it was only 4 cents on the dollar or so.

Yeah, it can always go further lol, but I agree I think there might be some potential there. A bounce at the least, but who knows. I kept the position relatively small in case I am wrong.

They probably have stopped trading with the accrued interest I think is why. You probably have to call to do the trade. BTU is in a similar position as LINE, and their bonds moved up a decent amount yesterday, but it says you have to agree to an interest rate before the transaction..

I was holding CHK preferred shares in both my regular account and my retirement account as well as FCX bonds still in my retirement account and briefly put on US Steel bonds. I've closed out all of FCX and US Steel for a nice gain. Steel was just about 6%, but I only held it for a week or so...

I've noticed that on some other spreads before, it is the initial margin that they make insane, but the maintenance will be at a normal level. No clue why they do that.

Not that I am a ACD practitioner yet, but I do feel like it is somewhat running out of steam. I've been buying some value plays over the past few weeks, but the past couple days I've sold some positions to lock in gains and free up some cash to buy with in the event we start moving down.

Pretty sure it isn't accessible later in the evening on Fridays and stays down for awhile for updates or whatever they need to do.

I bet that would suck pulling that on an open stretch of interstate on a windy day

They were in the CME Trading competition with my school. I don't think they were there for the final round, but nonetheless participated.

Thanks Daal, what is HNGR? I checked out Consul, but couldn't get HNGR to pull up for some reason. I am not at home so just searched on FINRA and Etrade but will check IB tonight. Schwab has been removing the junk bonds pretty quickly from their lists, so haven't touched them in my retirement...
