GoPro will move some manufacturing out of China to avoid tariffs — but it's not promising U.S. jobs

Can you tell me in your own words what exactly does the EU do in general? Aside from US, they are the largest trading partner with China. Are they as toothless as I hear? Is the entire union lost to the liberal party? I blame May and Merkel. Why is the EU and Japan so useless? Do they...

GoPro will move some manufacturing out of China to avoid tariffs — but it's not promising U.S. jobs

So this is a punitive investment? Why is there a UN if they don't do jack s***? Yes China is being bad, but why is it always our problem? why we even in the UN if it's completely useless?

GoPro will move some manufacturing out of China to avoid tariffs — but it's not promising U.S. jobs

I don't see why. It doesn't benefit neither parties, unless Trump's agenda is just to cripple China at the expense of crippling the US as well. What exactly in a productive sense will come out of this? If anything, when the jobs do return to the US, it'll be all robotic. It makes more sense...

GoPro will move some manufacturing out of China to avoid tariffs — but it's not promising U.S. jobs

So in the end, the only thing this trade war is doing is crippling both economies... lol Sure it'll hurt China more then us, but at the core of it is pure destruction.

Do you think UVXY short calls are guaranteed?

I assume only that you short a reasonable amount of deep ITM calls (I'd go with $10). Assuming you put this as an "investment". Do you think it's guaranteed you'll be profitable in 4 years? (yes I know there probably isn't a 4 year expiration contract, but you can always roll every week duh)...

Can someone please tell me how negative interset rates work for Japan?

According to the article, the government ask for money, banks buy it up, and the BOJ buys it off the banks with printed money... The banks sell it at a smaller profit.... I guess if so many institutions are forced to hold on to them, they'd want deflation.

Does Apple have an import breakdown from China on their 10k?

I know most of their stuff is manufactored in China. Is there a breakdow on how exposed they are? Speculation on how much these 25% Tarriffs will effect them? Here is a breakdown on imports from China...

Can someone please tell me how negative interset rates work for Japan?

I get my info from this video: I don't know how accurate it is compared to a random person replying on this forum, but on the last part of that video they talk about Japanese investors making their money through deflation. Which perplexes me. I don't think a lot of people know about this...

Can somebody explain to me how China is screwing us?

Going by your numbers - Europe being china's biggest partner. It'd still hurt them regardless if they stop manufactoring for US alone. We have a 419bn trade def with China, so take that out of the equation if they decide to adhere to harsh policies, they would have a lot of empty factories...

Can somebody explain to me how China is screwing us?

Without us, China will just have a bunch of empty factories. Not that they don't already have alot... One point I don't understand is why they have so much dollar reserves? That's a contradiction to what previous guy was saying - they are running out of US reserves? I know they sell their...

Can somebody explain to me how China is screwing us?

I think you misdirect your troll. I just asked a question, I didn't have a solid position on what's going on in the tarriff war. It's the other guy you are disagreeing with. I'm just reading.

Can somebody explain to me how China is screwing us?

Can you please elaborate a little more on this "recycling"? I think I'm starting to get it... Put it in a circle? We print money -> They buy our bonds with it -> They buy our goods with it -> ??? Where do we come first circle?

Can someone please tell me how negative interset rates work for Japan?

At first I thought who in the right mind would buy Japanese Treas with a negative interest rate. But I heard these "investors" make money through deflation???? That sounds extremely complex... You're paying to lend money to the bond but will make more if the currency deflates more???? Why...

Can somebody explain to me how China is screwing us?

So you're saying Trump is pushing them because he knows they'll fold with their current situation. You are confident we'll win the trade war against China? How do you know China isn't going to drag us with them if they go into recession? A lot of our goods are sold to them too. Namely...

Can somebody explain to me how China is screwing us?

There was a time when the RMB was pegged to the dollar no? So it's no longer officially pegged but the Chinese government is pegging it using monetary tactics. How do you know they are keeping the Yuen in the country? This makes sense to the post above as they are using USD to buy goods in...

Wait I'm confused. The YUEN is still pegged to the dollar? I see a floating chart on google USD/RMB.

Can somebody explain to me how China is screwing us?

I agree the numbers are fudged by the communist party. However, things like PMI are done independent sources like Markitserv no? Don't some of these banks have their own reports they publish?

Can somebody explain to me how China is screwing us?

Can you confirm that China the once "fastest growing economy" in the world is now no longer? China was growing at 7% at one point but now I hear that it's all financed with debt. Now they aren't growing fast but their debt keeps rising. If they have been doing this for a while - how much of...

Can somebody explain to me how China is screwing us?

How do you know the tariffs didn't prevent the deficit from getting bigger? Could have been 500 billion?
