It is a pity that there are no options on SPY. Otherwise, I am going to trade SPY options only. Great strategy for a lazy trader like me.

It is not just OEX. Yesterday, I write some options at the bid price. I had to cancel the order to force the market makers to fill it.

Hey guys,
Anyone cares to post some good jokes. Today is the Fed Day. I plan to sit it out, and would like to read through all the jokes posted on this board.

IMHO:
There are two noteworthy facts in the unemployment report:
1. In April, the number of unemployed workers surged to 8.8 million, with almost 2 million without jobs for 27 weeks or more. US average duration of unemployment shot up to 19.6 weeks - a 20-year high.
2. April's job losses...
The stocks of all these bogus internet companies have crashed already. No point in shorting them now.
However, there is always the next generation(like Star Trek). :p Someone told me a long time ago that for every five years, there will be a new generation. We have been in bear...
The historical data on the unemployment rate may not be very useful. I believe the Labor Department changed the sampling method few months ago.

I agree with the above ET members. Options are not designed for daytrading. The bid-ask spreads are just too big. I have been swing trading IBM options few times in the past few weeks with some success. But if I daytraded these options, I am sure that I have a net loss by now.

Not me. I made over $4,200 by shorting QLGC put options in the past few months. Not ready to give it back yet.
Maybe I'll short QLGC or its call options two or three days after the earning.

Actually, what has happened to Yahoo ? I did not visit their message boards for almost 30 months. I was shocked by the content of the messages three months ago.

I swing trade options only. Currently, the return is 2.5 to 3% of my account value per month. Have a tough time trying to increase the monthly return to 3.5%.

Agree. Money CANNOT buy happiness. But if you are penniless, your lives are definitely miserable. Money can give you a lot of freedom. If you are rich:
1. Would you get stuck at a 9 to 5 job, that is physically exhausting and mentally not stimulating ?
2. Would you care about office...
