    Indicator of NAS volume?

Yes, it has always peaved me that you cannot see intraday volume on any of the major indeces. There are a few things you can do: 1. Watch QQQ. Usually the intraday volume here gives you an idea, although there are some flaws with this approach that can mislead you. QQQ is tied to to the NDX...

    Cheapest for Big Size

Might want to look at MB trading. They are related to Terranova-MB (share the client database), but clear through a different firm and does not provide realtick (or any other serious charting) but do have partner agreements with e-signal, dtn, qcharts, and a few others and CLAIM that their order...

    Traders Screenshots

If you're going to post my setup, you might as well use the current one: http://www.ttrader.com/dereksas/workspace.jpg Also, I thought this thread was about screen layouts. I posted this elsewhere, but it probably applies to this thread too. I did it when I was first trying out...

Someone cleaned up my IB account (almost)

Don't you think if this was all fiction, def would be here by now letting us know that this appears to be a made up story so that we don't worry about it? Or, is it perhaps that you are so emotionally tied to your trading platform that you regard any utterance of criticism to be some kinda...

Someone cleaned up my IB account (almost)

No...Mishka said that the Ameritrade account was opened first and that it was opened as a joint account along with a person he did not know. Which would have been necessary too because IB requires that the destination of a wire be the same name. Someone planned this one out. It was not a "mistake".

    TradeStation Securities announces new commissions

Thanks Kymar...I didn't know that ignored orders would get put into the account manager. Good to know.

    TradeStation Securities announces new commissions

The only way I could find to somewhat simulate this is to set up some automated orders which when the condition is met, populates your order and throws up a confirmation window. Done this way you can theoretically have "heaps" of orders waiting for an event. Is there another way?

    IB Improvements (Part 3)

Yes, I would like that too....perhaps a more "minimalized" toolbar. Big friendly icon/buttons with words and pictures is all well and good for some, but for those who know the platform and trade every day, monitor space is at a huge premium. I for one would prefer an "unfriendly" but still...

    IB Quote Problems

I'm surprised the no one else posted in this thread that NYSE was unavailable for trading from 2:35-3:03pm today. Are you kidding me??? At least IB apologized "for the inconvenience". I love IB's commissions, but this is starting to get ridiculous. I'll be opening another brokerage account...

    BEST_ECN Missing?

Hi def, I don't have any specific examples since IB does not give me these records, I only have my anecdotal experiences to draw from. One thing I will say is that the problem is NOT in selecting the "best route" the delay comes AFTER the selection is made but BEFORE the order is filled. When...

    BEST_ECN Missing?

macal, I completely disagree witht this. Do not confuse fast fills with best fill price. They are related but different issues. Anyone on either side arguing this issue solely on the grounds of best fill price is missing the point. There are times (my example of a market stop when a...

    BEST_ECN Missing?

You're kidding right? How do you define "immediate"? Within a few seconds? There is no doubt in my mind that BEST ECN fills faster. Whenever TWS shows me my stop market is going to SUPERSLOWS I cringe because I know it's going to fill a couple seconds slower and at a worse fill. On liquid Naz...

    IB and QuoteTracker

Hi Jerry, I'm a QT and IB user, and speaking for myself, I could really care less if QT supported IB's data. All I want is a better way to setup and send my orders. Literally *anything* has got to be better than IB's poor excuse for 80's DOS software. And now that API's are released with...

This is inane, and I wish someone would put a stop to it. Who's board is this anyway?
