    Is Undergroundtrader.com reliable?

I'm sure there's a thousand threads on this already, but let me bring it up again, anyway. Does anyone succesfully use Undergroundtrader.com on a **CONSISTENT** basis? I sent them an e-mail asking them 2 questions: 1. Do Jay and Ral actually trade? Their answer: "Neither Jay nor...

    Let's Discuss Trading Styles

Another method I've heard of is people buying a ton of shares (like 2000+, even up to 4000 I've seen) and just selling after a .10 increase- which happens constantly in this decimal market. On 2000 shares, a .10 increase is $200, right there; 5 times a day=$1000 a day; 260 days a year=...

    Day-trading caused market crash?

U.S. News and World Report May 14, 2001 Letters Bear market facts What initially contributed to the market's decline was the sharp increase in puts, calls, shorts, margin debt, and day trading by March of 2000 ["What Kind of Bear?" March 26]. The result was the equity valuations...

    Trading breakouts/breakdowns

Rfoulk- What constitutes a stock being "weak" or "strong"? When a stock is "strong" does that mean it sticks to the support and resistance levels more? Is a "weak" stock a stock that moves too easily (very volatile)? Praet- When you bought AOL near the 50, was your main (and only...

    Trading breakouts/breakdowns

I guess it depends on what you call a "breakout", praet. If you consider going .50 above a resistance level, then bouncing back to the same level a breakout, then that is fine and you can make 1/2 point right there. Are you saying it's better to wait until the slight momentum over a resistance...

    Trading breakouts/breakdowns

Thanks for the reply mcgregor. I just made 1/2 a point off a slight breakout on EBAY using your ".25-over rule"- maybe it was just luck in my case, though. Anyway, what are yours (and anyone else's) strategies for support/resistance on a new 2-day high? After it breaks through, what do you...

    Trading breakouts/breakdowns

About how many points over a 2-day high (or general resistance area) is considered a safe "breakout"? I have noticed that a lot of times when the price hits a resistance area of a 2-day high (or 3-day high or whatever), it will just bounce back. It seems to be that chatroom monitors are always...

    Anyone follow TradingtheOpen.com?

I took a look at their site. It looks almost too good to be true. It the most expensive I've seen, though ($495) a month. I was wondering if anyone has signed up with them? How are you doing? What kinds of problems do you have? Their site did some serious dissing of other chat-room sights...

    large orders fills

You MIGHT get it with ARCA or ISLD, but probably not in 10 seconds. It all depends, though. Sometimes I get filled VERY fast (with only a 1000-share lot, though). 4,000 share lots are pretty big for scalping.

    Trading advice needed

Kevin, You should only trade 100 lot shares for a very short while, because you can never really make money off those small amounts when you are scalping. The stock has to go up a whole point to make $100! Just do this until most of your trades are gains, then move up to 500 shares at...

    Let's start a tax discussion

This is my first year that I have to report my "income" (when I actually lost money) from the sale of stock (at least from trading, I sold a bunch of GE a few years back, but that's different). I got my "2000 Consolidated Forms 1099" from Datek and I sold slightly over $200K of stock last year...

    Trouble with QCharts

Are you running Windows '98? Cable modem or DSL? Just because it works with other people's PCs does not mean it is going to work with EVERYONES. But it still makes it QCharts problem because I am paying $98 a month, they could at least try to help me through it.

    Trouble with QCharts

Of course it's a Windows problem, but Qcharts is the only software that shuts down regularly, so they should be able to tell me what is going on since it is THEIR software. At least they should try to walk me through the problem besides just saying "Well, download the software again and...
