    Life without anti-virus ?

Agree. Virtualization is WTG for dividing same physical machine for secure and less secure zones running at the same time.

    Life without anti-virus ?

Not so much it can lower chances of GETTING an infection. But it indeed can lower chance of infection SPREADING on a whole system. Though XP is pretty weak in this sense, Vista is already better (but still far behind *NIX-like systems such as MacOS and Linux).

    Life without anti-virus ?

Run a *NIX machine, no such thing as any realistic virus threat in that world... Or run Windows machine solely for trading - No P2P, no browsing, no IM, no external media ever read by computer except 100% trusted (such as legal copy of software) behind a decent firewall, all recent patches...

    Vista kernel is vulnerable

Running ANY system (be it Windows or UNIX-like OS) as administrator is the big "no no" which is able to eliminate all security measures available in OS... Every code contains vunlerabilities, just because it's written by mere humans... But Microsoft has trained whole generations of users...

    IB Raises IdealPro Trade Minimums

Considering commission minimums, reasonable size to trade IDEALPRO is anyway not less than 100K position size, otherwise trade cost becomes very high relative to pip size... So 25K USD or 20K EUR, not much of a difference...

I got SERIOUSLY robbed by Oanda

Oanda's late outages look like platform issues to me... Actually I don't see any problems here: so many ways to trade currencies. You like Oanda - you trade Oanda, you don't - you trade IDEALPRO @ IB or GLOBEX 6E @ IB, also ICE started currency futures with a size of 1M (should be very good...

    60x Bull/Bear ETFS?

60x is crap! Real macho only trades with 500:1 leverage being always fully leveraged, never using a darn stop-loss and always pyramiding down! That's the only way you'll make a fortune in this market! Good luck!

How to get rid of spyware/viruses

Mac OS is based on UNIX code as well basically (differences are more related to licensing than to actual technical differences)... Doubt Macs are less user-friendly than Windows... Also Linux evolves greatly during last years, latest releases are very user-friendly, I would say in most cases...

    ALERT ..Firefox allowing data miner.

Yes, I don't think it steals passwords and CC numbers... :) Just picks misc browsing stats such as where users come from, what browser/OS use et cetera...

    ALERT ..Firefox allowing data miner.

Yes, of course Quantserve is just stats picking tool, which is clearly stated on their site, much similar to Google-analytics and such... And to allow it or not, everyone decides... There's always an option to block it or not...

    ALERT ..Firefox allowing data miner.

Quantcast stuff apparently is attached to ET forum page..... Can this be done without ET owners knowing this?

    ALERT ..Firefox allowing data miner.

My FF only tries to load this quantserve crap when I load ET (NoScript catches it).... So it's likely somehow connected with this site not with FF in general...
