    Question on Settlement procedure Duka/FxPro

Google for 'tomorrow/next'. The equity keeps fluctuating with Dukas because you receive your PnL in the quote currency and it will settle to account currency in T+1.

    FXCM Discussion

I have a question. Why do you think the DXY construction method is outdated?

Why MB trading is not cheaper than Oanda for scalpers that trade at market.

Cable is also usually cheaper on Oanda, so is usd/jpy, if you calculate full commissions in and out. Cable is mostly 1.8 and usd/jpy 1.2 on MB. Other firms with thighter spread on these pairs (like IB) are probably cheaper than Oanda.

You get filled like that often? I suppose one would need algo assistance to make that viable when the market isnt idle. Also it sounds like there is always the possiblilty your limit is marketable once it reaches the server with just a 0.1 pip offset..

And how cheap is it when a stop gets hit by those 0.3 pips Oanda quotes wider that wouldnt have been hit on MB?

Why MB trading is not cheaper than Oanda for scalpers that trade at market.

Still, for very short-term trading commission + smaller spread is preferable to wider spread w/o commission - even if transaction-costs would be the same on paper. If you have stops/targets of just a few pips, its likely that sooner or later your stop get hit just by these 0.5 pips in spread...

Any pointers to smart order splitting algo?

There are a few good books on how to meet these benchmarks (twap, vwap, volume participation and so on). It appears the OP is looking for some sort of shortterm predictive algorithm. Doubting there is useful literature about that.

    Oanda losses connection around NFP...again!

cstfx: do you have personal experience with MB? Are they any good? On a first look spreads dont look that impressive for an ecn (especially usd/jpy and cable).

What If You Could Have Predicted the Yen’s New Record? The SSI Saw It Coming.

I doubt this is very useful. Oanda has a similar thing. The average Oanda customer was heavily short JPY sinche atleast June last year(80% plus). Well that number came down recently..

Why we should use regulated broker.

No, Refco FX was not - it was offshore (as opposed to their futures business).

    Introducing 4XProp

There doesnt appear to be any risk involved since they dont take deposits or fees. However, there are only skype and phone-numbers as contact details in the website, they should atleast explain who they are and provide a street-address.

    Look at dat JPY!!!

A 3.75% move while CME is closed - one of the reasons i prefer spot. But who ever that was, nicely done. Selling into roll-over, where even most spot firms dont trade. At 17:05 EST (when most come back online), it was already at ~79.40 - probably below quite a few stops. P.S. i wonder how...

    Advanced Markets any good?

Look up their principals on the NFA website, and the firms they were with previously. Not exactly a clean regulatory history. They only have 85 clients according to their cftc disclosure.

Nice, appears they do it better this time.

    Currenex eSignal Bridge

Yes you can send orders with this, but you cant get any quotes from currenex back into esignal. You would have to look into cnx itself to see what quote you are exactly dealing on. This is only of limited use in my opinion. I would also double-check if this actually works correctly. Ages ago...

There are like a bazillion of these offshore MT4-firms (Metaquotes must make a killing with this). Wondering if they are all net profitable? A MT4 license costs $100K + update fees, they need to incorporate somewhere, need at least some staffing, a website and so on. I guess the initial...

    Algo Trading

Hi, i read the book with a similar expectation, interested in microstructure and things like, for example, to determine when its better to place a passive limit and when its better to agressively cross the spread - to archive a possible price-improvement on a very short-term horizon. There...
