Poll: Is Obamacare good or bad for Americans?

Define working.. It has pros and cons, but generally speaking in CH everyone still gets what they need.

Poll: Is Obamacare good or bad for Americans?

Thats not necessarily where the problem lies. There are working health care systems that do rely solely on the private sector (i.e. Switzerland) and there are working health care system that are run by the state (i.e. Austria, or Scandinavia). Hybrid systems are generally shit, because then...

Fast HFT FX Order Execution on IB

You are aware that IB fx marketdata is only displayed in 0.5 pip increments to clients - but actual internal quotes(and subsequent fills) are in full decimal precision ? Sounds to me you are trading on the wrong venue for this kind of game..

Pat Buchanan: Chemical Attack ‘Reeks Of False Flag Operation’

Putting an iranian puppet regime out of business could be interpreted as an american win, i suppose. Although its unclear what Obamas plans are exactly. Only very limited air strikes, or prolongued enforcement of a no fly zone, or air assistance for the FSA? Noone knows. They probably...

The Truth Re: College Tuition. It's not what you've been told.

What about the number of graduates? Is this declining, stable or increasing?

Best Electronic Trading Venue for Spot FX

I think CME Europe could be a nice option too in the future, if they can get enough liquidity. They are supposedly starting in September. Contract specs are way better than what they have on Globex right now. All pairs are quoted in half-ticks, so its instantly 50% cheaper for takers. Also...

Best Electronic Trading Venue for Spot FX

Fastmach is yet another of the dozen or so new ecn platforms trying to get a piece of the institutional cake. Its a jointventure between FXCM, SocGen and BNY Mellon. They have 3 different what they call 'trading rooms': retail(mostly liquidity provision for broker clients and what is...

How do you chart your spot fx

Except NZD/USD, the market convention is that the roll is done at 5pm New York time. NZD/USD used to be rolled forward at 7am Auckland time. I think some(most?) do it at 5pm est now too. So, depending on where you live, these times can vary due to differing DST rules from country to country...

    Global warming LOL

The glaciers in my country(and world wide) are melting extremly fast in the last 20 years. Some of them will be gone in a few years, and if it keeps up, in 20 years there will not be much left here. I dont even need any fancy scientific studies - i remember what it looked like as a kid, and i...

    Trading Internship

You didn't even clarify what you expect your assitant to do exactly. Type your trades into excel or something? Make coffee? What valueable experience could an intern gain? Presumably this would be the only reason someone works for free, no?

Best Electronic Trading Venue for Spot FX

No firm outside of the USA, without NFA/CFTC license, can take U.S. residents as (retail)clients. Or more like they could, but they would run into trouble with uncle sam. The american authorities make it a point to enforce their regulation in an extra-territoral fashion. The CTFC apparently has...

When People Ask "What do you do for a living" What say you?

Waste management, construction, phone telemarketing schemes, dog fights, vending machines, restaurants, seafood distribution, pizza parlors, espresso cafes, loan sharking, gambling, car theft, extortion, pornography, narcotics, counterfeiting, hijacking, bankrupty fraud, labor union...

LMax is really good for fx, you can negotiate better commission than at IB too. But its not comparable to IB with their broad market coverage.

1/4% Tax on all stock trades pushed in NY Times today

In the last draft, FX spot was exempt from the tax. Swaps, forwards and other derivatives would be covered. But, according to german comments, taxing OTC products is off the table, at least in the initial phase. This tax is probably dead in the water anyways.

    Money exchange

You can use Oanda for that. You can make subaccounts in various currencies, and transfer back and forth on thight spreads. No fees. Although the interest-rate will probably be worse than with a CD. They are paying 0.3% on CAD deposits at the moment. But compared to usd/cad fx risk its insignificant.

Do full-time forex traders exist or is it just make believe?

Especially in GBP, the half-sized 6B makes it 2x as expensive in commissions. Also, most crosses are illiquid on CME.
