Spydertrader's Jack Hershey Equities Journal II

Cramer mentioned LIFC on his show today, I was wondering what everyone's take is on this. Personally, I am not going to touch it for about a week (if it shows up on our lists) because I know a lot of people are fading/trading his picks these days. (it's up %10 in after hours already) How...

Spydertrader's Jack Hershey Equities Journal II

Rank is essentially a measure of volatility, but in a very specific way. Although I haven't kept up with this journal in a while, I believe it's still the same as the original: Cycling %20 five times in six months. The way I look at it is that the EPS and RS bring the stock to your...

Someone will correct me if I'm wrong, I'm sure, but I believe FORD has been a part of the FU for a very long time now (1+ years?). Once it makes it in, as long as it maintains "rank" each month it stays in. Thanks, - The New Guy

    India's Economy

Has anybody come across any articles relating how successful outsourcing to India has been? I worked for a company that did it for their call centers and it was a complete disaster. They were not properly trained, didn't understand the cultural differences and didn't have the proper education...

real time relational database for quotes / level 2

the easiest way (imho) is to get a data feed into excel, then write some vba sub routines to dump it into the DB at time intervals (or ticks if you have the power). Look up "ADO Excel Access" on the web for some examples. - The New Guy

Riskarb's combo to fly conversion journal

Hey risk, Still very new to this, so I hope you don't mind the rudimentary question, but what's the best profit scenario from these positions? Are you hoping the underlying of the initial straddle flatlines til expiration or are you trying to put the wings on? If IV is decreasing and you're...

Spydertrader's Jack Hershey Equities Journal II

This might not be the appropriate forum to post this question, but I thought the people here might be interested as well. In reading some of Jack's previous work I have read about numerous drills he recommends people do. One is an excercise where you just try to trade for pushes for an...

Need some help with a Hoadley's function

Quite possibly, but I would imagine that it would affect puts as well, no? I can try playing around with it... it's set to .04112 currently. Thanks, The New Guy EDIT: LOL, perfect.... a %40 risk free rate was not giving me the iv's I expected for some reason.... ;) Thanks!

Need some help with a Hoadley's function

Can anyone out there help? It's with the implied volatility function from Hoadleys. Basically, it's working great on all puts, but when I switch to calls it only shows values for OTM options. The rest come up with the error code "9999". It is American binomial and the option price is not...
