    "Scaling out" is inferior behavior

I'm not 100% sure what you are asking for, but here is an example (although not a real trade I've done, but definately an example of what I have done in the past). TNG Edit: screwed up the image, will post it again.

    "Scaling out" is inferior behavior

Well then, the title of the thread should be "setting inferior price targets is inferior behavior"!! :D :D :D TNG

    "Scaling out" is inferior behavior

That doesn't make any sense to me. I'll set a price target of 2 pennies, and let the rest run. You're telling me that selling it all at 2 pennies will ALWAYS be more profitable then leaving half on and letting it run higher or lower? TNG

    "Scaling out" is inferior behavior

Scaling out that way is definately "inferior". However, this seems to be more of an argument for accurate price targets. If you scale out first at your price target and then let it run you get different results, especially if your price target is not very accurate in relation to the high...

IB - penny option pricing *now*

So it would be possible to have a bid at 1.23 and have the market trade at 1.20 but not be filled if you weren't first in the cue then? Thanks, TNG

IB - penny option pricing *now*

I assume that means if you enter a penny increment order and there is no match but the market trades better than your order you get filled at the nickel? TNG

    How about a "Newbie" section?

What I meant was a category or whatever you call it with some threads that stay at the top. As it currently stands, when new threads are created yours drops below the visible line. Maybe renaming the educational area to newbie area would be enough. Anyway, I'm just trying to think of ways...

    How about a "Newbie" section?

Hey Pekelo, what's with the attack? I'm not new, I'm not asking nor seeking advice, and I'm doing just fine on my own, thanks. I don't frequent the educational resources forum, so I guess I did miss it. However, since in the last two weeks there have been numerous threads started asking the...

    How about a "Newbie" section?

Thanks! I've noticed an ever-increasing amount of similar first time posts. I almost want to create an ET sentiment indicator based off how many new traders per day we're getting. :D

    How about a "Newbie" section?

Where we can create some "sticky" threads of questions that are asked every five days or so.... - how much was "tuition" to start - what are good books to read - where can one find information about starting a career in trading - how much capital is enough to start Maybe a place where...

I don't understand the purpose of "hedging"

In a "perfect hedge" you have no market exposure. Hedging is mostly to eliminate certain types of risk. For example, you could be long one of the dow components and short the dow itself (futures, options or etf) and that would in theory remove "market risk", ie the risk of the entire market...
