    Something very simplistic

No, there was no real reason why I chose 3.00 - in fact, I think the day after I posted that I should consider changing it to 2.50, but I never did. One thing I guess I liked about 3.00 was that it "covered" commish when compared to ES. Not that it makes any sense to think that way. There...

    Something very simplistic

Today was the first day NQ had a losing day where ES didn't also have a losing day. Both ES and NQ now have 4 losing days each out of the 17 days I've posted trades for.

    Son of Something Very Simplistic

I didn't take every trade - I missed a few bars here and there, so don't take this for anything complete. I'm going to try to be a little more organized tomorrow. For ES: 45 Total Trades 33 Winners 12 Losers Gross +18.00 points/ $900.00/contract Commish $216.00 Net...

    Something very simplistic

Decent day for ES, not too good for NQ. First three trades ended up break even - and a lot of chop on the others - almost always going to +2.50 instead of +3 needed for exit. For ES: +6.50 points, 13 trades, 10 winners, 3 losers For NQ: -9.00 points, 18 trades, 10 winners, 8 losers...

    IB disconnected many times

What don't you understand? IB seems to be having trouble with one or more of their servers - and people whose accounts reside on those servers are having trouble accessing those accounts. You are obviously on another server.

    Yes, at this point.

    Son of Something Very Simplistic

No - not really - two totally separate and distinct things.

So far 20 trades, 15 winners, 5 losers - net +9.00. Anyone else trying this out?

    Something very simplistic

NQ looks like it is back to it's old games. ES nice. http://home.carolina.rr.com/quah/quah1web.htm

II believe one of their servers is having a problem - if your acct is on that server, you are also having a problem...

Tick charts in fact *dont* have an equal volume per candle - they have an equal number of trades per candle. Each of those trades can be any size (volume). Esignal provides the data for more than one day workth of ticks - Ensign will display 5 days worth using an Esignal feed.
  12. Q

    Son of Something Very Simplistic

Well, I've gone full cicrle as far as tick charts go - for the very reason you state. I've given up trying things that depended on a very small number of ticks - but figured I'd try something like this - something using a longer set - and I'll just assume there is no way they will be perfect or...

    Son of Something Very Simplistic

There are so many trades generated by this method that I don't think the risk and confusion of reversals are worth it. Why 272? No particular reason other than I've liked using it in the past. I like fib multiples of 8 - 8*34=272. I also noticed some things happened in cycles of 8-272T...

    Hard Four Easy Eight

IMO, this works better if you use the highest value of the two dice to decide if you are going long or short - i.e. - if you roll a 4 and 3, you go long for 7, if you roll a 5 and 2, you go short for 7.

    6.371 Double EMA???

Only initially? Also pretty coindicental that this "Mathis and Rundy" are "publicly shy".
  16. Q

    6.371 Double EMA???

There were only 17 minutes between your starting this thread and your post that said "It is the most amazing indicator I have ever seen. Go to their web site and see for yourself - it's free.". And there was nothing "bad" said about "Doctor Rundy" between those posts - yet you still didn't...

    6.371 Double EMA???

Is the website you mentioned in you earlier post some sort of secret? Why won't you post it?
  18. Q

    6.371 Double EMA???

Not sure I even understand what that is - fraction of what?
  19. Q

    6.371 Double EMA???

You can do that easily with Ensign. Most, if not all, of the indicators in Ensign allow you to choose what you want as the input to the indicator - that input can be another indicator. I've used it to play with triple EMA's. Feeding an EMA into another EMA, making a "double" EMA, then...

What is a "double EMA"? The EMA of a EMA?
