    Avoid Fxcm At All Cost.

If you couldn't get out of your positions why didn't you call them immediately? It seems like you could have done that and THEN posted your experience online. Instead, as soon as your positions got frozen, you took the time to go onto 2 seperate forums to post about it? Something doesn't...

    MBA Internship Advice Sought

The timing is pretty bad, but I suppose it would be worse if I were seeking a full-time position. Speaking of Lehman, I was supposed to visit with them as well but, sadly, we all know what happened there. Knowing full well that Tulane is not up there at the top in the rankings, I am...

    MBA Internship Advice Sought

Hello Everyone To be brief, I completed my undergraduate degree in Finance at Tulane in New Orleans in 2004. During the final semester I was fortunate enough to take a class that taught how to trade Eur/Usd in the spot market. Succeeding in that class was my priority and when all was said...

    Starting/Working for a Hedge Fund

First rule to discourse (behind actually having good points) is to articulate yourself clearly. That includes the correct use of grammar. I am the first to say that nobody is perfect, but this post was exceptional! My apologies if English is not your first language.

    any day trading Hedge Funds?

Unfortunately, but not surprisingly, any fund that takes a hit like that also takes a huge hit in their assets under management figure when people run for the hills. So sure, the "fund" may have started to make positive gains, but that doesn't mean the size ever recovered. And for a 2/20...

    I couldn't disagree more :)

Up 20% YTD, is that good?

Don't be miffed, it takes time for people to look over everything. I think supplying a few other facts aside from the "up 20%" part in the original post would have potentially thwarted unnecessary comments. No big deal :) Congrats on your success!

Up 20% YTD, is that good?

Up 20% by itself doesn't mean anyting unless you attach a standard deviation to those returns or any other metric of risk.

    Oil-to-Gas Multiplier?

To try and get around the tax problem from state to state I was using the gasoline figures posted as the National Average. Wouldn't that at least help smooth the quality of the calculation? Again, lots of good info posted. Best,

    Oil-to-Gas Multiplier?

That clears it up more, thanks.

    Oil-to-Gas Multiplier?

I should tell you to go look it up in a library. You know, because that would actually help you solve your problem.

    Oil-to-Gas Multiplier?

That makes sense to me, but it isn't playing out in the market. For example, crude is down approximately 17% off of its high. Now, gasoline at the pump topped off at $4.12/gallon and is currently at $4.00 But if gas were down 17% off of its highs then that would make it $3.42/gallon...

    Dollar Bull Continues...

Ever since retesting the previous high and barely getting above it, the Euro has receded against the USD. The new high was set but PPI and CPI came in at 26 and 27 year highs, respectively. Now the market is pricing in the eventual rate hikes that the US will have to make and you are seeing...
