    The ACD Method

First time is several years I'm not working Christmas so I made myself a present - intraday, daily, weekly, monthly charts set up with all the ACD data I want to look at. Took more than a few hours. Time for a cup of "hot chocolate" in front of the tree (milk, Bailey's, Kahlua) Happy...

    The ACD Method

Spent the last week creating my spreadsheets with OR times and A/C values. Also got a failed A down, almost to the tick. Yeah, that's the sound of lightbulbs again :D

Does this hold true with most ETF's in your opinio?. I imagine it would. I will still watch both just in case some odd event happens.

    The ACD Method

I have been looking at various ETF's for longer term positions in retirement accounts. Fisher talks about the "domicile market". So if I'm looking at GLD, I should also note what is going on with gold futures. Question - would it be better to base my OR's and A/C values on the underlying...

    The ACD Method

If you must. But after nearly 500 pages I'm going to stick with the predictable outcomes: Mav = right > Mav = wrong.

    The ACD Method

I have just recently added ACD concepts as I get back into shorter term trading. It has been very helpful in selecting WHAT to trade and WHEN to trade it, but not HOW to trade it. As has been mentioned before, it does what it is designed to do very well (the what & when), the how is up to me.

Why do I picture you dressed like Morpheus from the Matrix when you say that? :D

    The ACD Method

Gotcha. Didn't know if the number line was set in stone or could be modified to fit a trader's individual preference like A/C values. Thanks

    The ACD Method

So I'm trying to sort out the number line values. I've read the parts of the book several times and written out the scenarios regarding whether or not A's were made or failed, whether C's were made or failed, and where the close is in relation to the opening range. What I am trying to do is...

    The ACD Method

My apologies if that was offensive as that was not my intent. I often revert to firehouse humor in the wrong environment. Allow me to clarify. My point was that I don't predict. When I try to, I usually lose. I have much more faith in my ability to react without a predetermined bias. If my...

    The ACD Method

Well I'm just getting back in to using ACD, so I don't have the full picture using the methodology. However, based on some chart analysis: I see increasing volume on the recent swing up to resistance. No blow off volume at resistance. A small pennant pattern on lower than average volume...

Here is a post stating that I have nothing creative or anything of value to post.

    The ACD Method

Well said. There are folks on here far more familiar with the ACD methodology than I so I'm taking bits and pieces of the conversation to improve my methods. I currently don't use ACD on longer term trades so I'm looking at how (or if) I should add it. As a side note, I never chase...

    The ACD Method

This clarifies things a bit. Obviously this will require some tweaking on my part, but I think I'm on the right track based for my trading style. Thanks for the input.

    The ACD Method

Let me try to clarify. Say I personally use an A value of 3 on the ES for A up/A down, with a 10 minute OR. For macro ACD, say I am using the first two hours on Monday for the weekly OR. What should I use for the A value on the weekly - the same as the daily, or a multiple of it to...

    The ACD Method

Question for those using monthly and weekly values. Are you using the same A/C values used on the daily for the monthly and weekly timeframes? For example, if the ES daily A value is 3.5, do you use the same amount for weekly & monthly. I'm not asking for anyone's specific values, just...

    The ACD Method

I'm wondering how the majority here are processing the information necessary for ACD. Are most using an excel spreadsheets and manually entering OR's, A/C values, pivots etc on charts? Is it worth attempting to write up a code for some of the values? Would this risk getting bad data? For...

Don't know why my posts aren't showing up, second try. Suggest you read the whole thread, it's very much worth it. Would also suggest reading the book a couple times.

    The ACD Method

I would strongly suggest reading the whole thread. Not a lot of fluff to filter, and there is some really good info in there. Definitely read the book. At least twice. I'm not the smartest guy, but not the dumbest either. Took a while for everything to sink in.
