Rimms 5K layoffs. What did these people do. there must be lots of bloat in corp's

Kodak is a sad case. They didn't even miss the digital revolution in photography - they actually shipped the first commercial digicams - instead they saw it and chose not to participate. Amazing.

100:1 intra day margin. How can a broker offer ?

How small are the accounts allowed to be? At 100:1 you're potentially looking at, what, wiped on a 2-handle move? Not sure the orders are even worth placing...

Rimms 5K layoffs. What did these people do. there must be lots of bloat in corp's

Yes, most of them are. Big corps are every bit as inefficient and wasteful as big government. It's part of the human condition.

Can money management alone create any edge?

Not in the real world. In the real world, if you trade a 50/50 system with any kind of size, you will blow up. It's not a question of if, it's a question of when.

Casino gambler flops :Paulson's fund lost 46 %

I recently sat across the table from a NYSE exec who complained about "those damn traders" wreaking havoc with is 401k. And he did this without a hint or irony or self-awareness.

A question about designing a medium frequency system, 10k trades per day

No, I'm afraid it's not. It seems to me you're in one of those places where the only option is to learn the hard way. Best of luck!

    Top Traders Vs. Top Entrepreneurs

Depends on the type of trading. If you're hiking the backwoods of China looking for that special batch of green tea for import - yes - if you're a screen monkey pushing buttons trying to scalp pennies - no.

    Top Traders Vs. Top Entrepreneurs

The latter requires social skills, in addition to everything the trader requires. Succeeding big as an entrepreneur is much much harder than succeeding as a trader. That's a loaded question I'll leave to others. Nothing good can come out of that discussion. :)
