    Right. At any given time, there are at least 200-300 threads running on your computer. Not all of them are doing something. If they do, more cores will allow them to run a bit more efficiently. I am running 4 apps just for trading. and they spawn 54 threads total.

    I got this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814187041 a while back. No problem with it. It's 'quiet', because there is no fan. My other video card is a 8000 series Nvidia as well (PCI-E), when I plug this card in, it works immediately.
