I was looking for trading volume spikes in front of events...at this point more curiosity than anything else. For example. CELG buying PHRM, announced on Nov 19. There was hardly any volume in Dec 50 calls (JUT LJ.x) ...but on Friday Nov 16, a spike of 1700+ calls traded...closed at 3.70 on...

hey decade - would you know the difference between their "Lite" version and the regular one? I did not understand what they meant by "Lite" version not having strategy related support. Can I still program my own indicators/systems with the Lite version? Thanks for any thoughts.

eSignal is GREAT!!! I have been using it since late '03 and had no problem with its data feed... until the last couple of weeks that is... ...I just canceled my subscription as of Friday...:mad:

Is NeedforTrade still in business? I tried to register and the webpage dumped a full page error msg... If their registration webpage doesn't work, I wonder if anyone is actually supporting the product, assuming it is still in business...

My problem is/has been with futures...I currently only trade the emini's.

I don't understand why but eSignal data delay has been occurring with increasing frequency ... even a slow day like today (11/29) all morning with a little bump in volume the charts stop update while IB's feed is going ... they can't blame volume spike on a day like today...sucks big time.

Thanks guys for the clarification. So I guess it will certainly distort if you want to build tick-count based bars and delays in range based bars...timebased bars would not be impacted much. Am I thinking about this correctly?

would someone please clarify this for me? Is IB datafeed snapshot based or real tick based? So if I want to build some sort of bar to aggregate ticks, am I going to get a full picture or some interval based snapshot only? TIA.
