Are the golden years of wall street and the stock market over?

I agree. The easy money is gone. Now you need more education, more skills and unless you are running your own business, the pay for employees is not the same vs the cost of living.

    BS info in OIC FAQ

BTW, I can't calculate this without knowing if the stock is hard to borrow and if they pay dividends. I don't think it's important to guess at this for this answer.

    BS info in OIC FAQ

I might have missed it, but I don't see where it says what the current price is, just that the premium over party is gone. Basically, the person asking the question expected that with the option 30 points in the money, the option should be worth $36.40, maintaining the $6.40 premium. In reality...

    BS info in OIC FAQ

It's not incorrect, but not a great explanation. The OIC is not talking to a professional so they respond like they are talking to an 8th grader.

    Are we elite traders?

You mean you don't get a trophy when you lose money? I agree. Part of trading for a living is dealing with losing money and being wrong often. The key is to keep losses small.

    Are we elite traders?

    Why is that?

    Are we elite traders?

The edge I had is certainly gone, but I made a good living trading with "limited" capital for 25 years. As long as traders are will to adapt to the current market rather than trade the market we had at one time, I don't see why 5 years should be a limit. You have to be constantly learning and...

    Are we elite traders?

What defines an Elite Trader? Is it AUM, experience, knowledge or simply returns and income? I assume you will get a LOT of responses. To me, if you can consistently make a living from trading, I'll put you in the elite class. Harder than it seems over time.

Interactive Brokers Secure Login: mobile app or card?

I liked this one the best. As a correspondent, we were not allowed to use this.

    Trading in coffee shop?

I can sit in a Starbucks, pay for a tall coffee and get free refills all day as long as I don't leave with my Starbucks gold card. Free WiFI, power plugs for my laptop. The bandwidth is not as good as my home or work internet service and it's not as reliable. It can drop from time to time. Not...

    the londonkid report

My compliance officer does not like it when I post my trading opinions. I'm regulated by FINRA so I can just say anything I want. Bob

    the londonkid report

Londonkid, I have to admit that I did not read every word of the last 18 pages, so I might have missed something. Along with your predictions of market movements, have you pointed out what instrument you used to profit if you are correct, what that trade was and when you entered it? I'd like to...

Interactive Brokers Secure Login: mobile app or card?

I like the card with the codes on it. What I don't like is the gold card like a credit card where you have to enter codes. It's very difficult to use. It's a new device, has not been around for 10 years.

Interactive Brokers Secure Login: mobile app or card?

Was not a good fit for us. It required a third tier above the master sub structure for us to do our job, and the process wasn't in place properly at the time. We could not bringing enough business for it to be material to us or them without that.

Interactive Brokers Secure Login: mobile app or card?

I don't currently have an account at IB. Victor Securities was an Introducing Broker to IB in 2015 but we dropped the relationship. I found it difficult to type on that little CC devise. You can get used to anything, but I would choose the phone application.

Interactive Brokers Secure Login: mobile app or card?

I used the CC devise and did not like it. It's easy to carry, but not easy to use. I have never used the IB mobile app but I have used others and I like that system better.

How do you know when it's time to stop trading? =)

When you can't find an edge.

Why hedge funds are so attractive to investors?

I have no empirical evidence that says that active trading is better or worse than "investing", as a general statement. I have noticed that the actively traded funds seem to do better. It might be their strategies, not their time frame.
