Hypothetical question - would IB protect customers privacy?

Your broker will respond to any legal request from any regulator like the SEC, FINRA or NFA. I'm not sure about the FBI, but the request from the FBI might go through the regulator.

    fees and commissions question

I'm going to state the obvious. The brokerage business is for profit. They make their money from execution fees and interest. Why would they charge you for only one side? You are trading an OTC product, so they can basically do whatever they want but YES, every broker charges for both the buy...

    Prop Firm Proposal

There is more to a deal than the deal. It matters who you are doing business with. Do you trust them. What does your contract say about trading other outside accounts. You have a VERY small allocation. Are they a broker dealer or a "customer." In either case, are they charging you a monthly desk...

    Prop Firm Proposal

If they take all the risk, I would say that 50% payout is very good. On MUCH larger allocation I have seen 15% to 35% payouts. I have not seen a 50% payout for many years.

Looking for FCM to get CME iLink direct access

$250K is a problem. The last time I asked, the lowest you can set the credit check on iLink was $500K. AT FC Stone I think the minimum is $1mm. Good luck...Bob

    Prop Firm Proposal

I know you did not ask me, but this is not competitive with your money as first loss and a 50% payout.

    Which Offshore Jurisdiction?

I'm not aware of any regulatory issues with a manager based in the UK, running a firm in BVI, opening a futures account at either of the FCMs we do business with for either yourself or clients. If this is for a securities account at any of the clearing firm we deal with, I expect the same to be...

    Which Offshore Jurisdiction?

I don't expect BVI will cause any issues. We can do business with BVI businesses. You can also check out Bermuda but that might be better for a fund. http://bda.bm/ • http://bda.bm/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/BDA_AssetManagementBrochure_ENGLISH_Online_F2.pdf •...

Im looking for CFDS broker with a platform for daytraders

I don't know much about CFD. Is the broker just making an equity market that matches the listed market, maybe adding a few cents outside the current NBBO, then you have to take offers and hit bids like other OTC markets, or is it something else? Do you get to buy on the bid, before the listed...

complete noob looking to invest $1000

No, making 100% or more on a $1000 account is not a likely outcome. If you want to "invest" $1000, pick a mutual fund or ETF and make an investment. If you want to "trade", you need more money. Try a paper trading account and try different strategies until you can build a trading strategy and...

Reliable and trusty worthy CFDS broker for american citizens living abroad??? Please need info

I'm not an expert on CFD, but DMA is direct market access and normally describes access to listed exchanges where you can direct your order vs some order router. Contract for difference as far as I know is an OTC products that is broker dependent. Why not just trade the equities as a US citizen...

Considering a career change from aviation to finance

I would say that in many cases, the CFA is better. Look through job listings for roles you might be interested in and see what they require.

Considering a career change from aviation to finance

SIG makes a good point. You will have to check into what is available in Canada. Again, since I went to NYU and live in NY, I always check out NYU 1st. Some top MBA programs have tailored master degrees for professionals. Here is an example that I have checked out in the past. This one gets you...
